About this deal

Where special cam shafts are fitted there may be a good case for using Castrol POWER1 R 40 as the small areas in contact will be heavily loaded especially where double valve springs are fitted. I used to race a TV 200 with a GP200 engine (home-tuned cast iron barrel) in the cutdown class and the engine ran brilliantly.

These girls must have thought that I was mad and their body language confirmed it but in the spirit of light heartedness I did wonder who these femsle perfumes are designed to attract….It can be used in racing engines, in gearboxes, as a two-stroke mix, even added to normal four-stroke engines and is made from the crushed seeds of the castor plant – a plant largely native to Africa and India. I suppose one could run a Vincent-HRD on R without too much hassle but given the good quality of modern multigrades by firms like Silkolene, why bother? The result is that castor oil provides excellent boundary lubrication, much better than that achieved by early mineral alternatives. An article in the VMCC journal suggests that the time to change caster is when you immerse an old coin in it and it comes out like new.

Following which, on land and in the air, the litany of Castrol successes encompasses many of the most significant events in aviation and motoring history, including Britain’s winning of the Schneider Trophy three times in a row with the R J Mitchell designed, Rolls-Royce powered Supermarine S5, and most of the World Land Speed Records established during the highly competitive inter-war years. strokes are on my good riddance list along with ignition points, adjusting spokes and tubes in tyres. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Not only for the track, this oil is also great for high powered motorcycle owners who are not only seeking really high performance, but also want the best lubricant protection in the their engines. I'm currently running Castrol TTS but was told that a teaspoonful of Castrol R in the mix will give you the classic 2 stroke smell, without the associated running problems. I rode my scooter (S2 TV175 engine) around this morning and there was frost on the grass and on windscreens. For 2-stroke engines Castrol POWER1 2T keeps key engine components clean and free from carbon deposits delivering long-lasting performance to 2-stroke vehicles. You could always devise a secondary injection system that just squirted a very small amount of castor oil into the inlet ports, or maybe even the exhaust manifold, to get the smell.

I too thought about using Castrol R, but I seem to remember that it does leave a lot of residue in carbs and after it’s burnt. I got a blocked strainer on the oil pickup and the result was an engine seizure in the fast (Sorry overtaking) lane of the M6! It has additives to prevent rapid deterioration through oxidation and its ‘oiliness’ is claimed to be superior to that of mineral oils. I have run mine on R40 for years and I’ll leave it up to everyone else to decide what they think of my decision as I start to make my replies. I've been told that you can put a teaspoonful in the tank, but I wouldn't know if that's enough to create the beautiful smell.

I'd stand behind the start line and watch him disappear off into the distance on his old Sprite or Husky380 and just take it all in (cough! OK, this might be a little out there, but av started using are lass 200EXC "as am saving for my 300EXC" but i wont the Castrol R smell coming from the sweet little 2 stroke, the smell reminds me and takes me back to race tracks with my old man as a kid. I dont know if id use it on a modern bike though also if your putting it in the fuel of a four stroke you will varnish the valves. Castrol R 40 SAE 40 4T Racing Engine Oil is castor oil-based and for motorcycles and classic or racing applications. With the most appropriate and carefully balanced additive technology to provide the best protection and performance for classic engines, Castrol Classic Oils are your premium lubricant.

So, obviously I've got my own tried and tested version of Castrol R use and I love some polemics and a bit of controversy. If storing for longer than 6 months, it may be worth switching back to a modern mineral, part-synthetic or full synthetic. Sorry for my poor choice of adjective, I was purely using this term figuratively and should have chosen a more suitable description. So it seems the bike runs better and smoother with a sweet addictive smell but it must sludge up the motor over time.

Since 2010 Castrol Polska together with BP Polska have been part of BP Europa SE based in Hamburg, a company managing the operations of all BP markets in Central Europe. You still catch the scent of the substance that made his company a household name in the early 1900s wherever older racing engines are exercised: that distinctive, heady perfume of Castrol R. No issues that could be related to choice of oil, but when I tried Maxima is wasn't as easy to get hold of as it is now. I may be wrong of course but if I remember correctly then there is an alternative which smells the same.
