About this deal

Behind day 3 we have a miniture leave-in balm for the hair. Percy & Reed is a pretty good brand and having used this balm before, which feels more like a gel-serum, I can say it works well and is especially good for using with styling tools as it makes curls and straightened hair last longer. It also has an interesting subtle spearmint scent to it which although reminds me of toothpaste is still nice and quite refreshing. Next up a nice foaming shower gel from Rituals. For me, foaming body wash adds a pampering aspect to a shower and my skin loves it. Eucalyptus isn't personally a scent I enjoy (this smells too medicinal for me) so it will be the first product I'll be passing onto someone that will use it.

Buff either kind of powder formula onto skin with a loose-bristled powder brush, using circular motions to diffuse the pigment evenly for the most natural finish. How to Apply Concealer This powder is pale pink in colour and has small glittery particles in it which at first made me think; I will look like a disco-ball if I dust my face with this. So I decided to use it as a highlighting powder rather than an all-over face setting powder because I was already looking dewy and radiant from the foundation and I didn’t want to make that look more intense. Once I finished my face makeup I applied this powder lightly onto the tops of my cheek bones and brow bone (with my Real Techniques setting brush) to enhance my facial features. I wanted to give my face a subtle highlight, which did look quite pretty! Always give your moisturizer time (as long as 15 minutes) to absorb into your skin before applying foundation. Otherwise, you can end up with a streaky mess. 3. Don't go overboard on product. Quite a few beauty advent calendars this year contain fake tan and if I'm honest I think they are a bit of a filler type product as winter isn't really a time most people think to fake tan. So I'm glad Tili haven't joined the club but gone for a skin-perfecting product instead. This wash-off skin tint can be applied to the face, decollete and limbs to minimise blemishes and cover imperfections. Definitely one to try out over the festive period however sadly not a universal shade only suiting fair to medium skin tones. I'm looking forward to trying this out! In this photo I added a bit of ‘Buzz’ eyeshadow from the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette to brighten up the eyeshadow as it appeared a little ashy on my lid.

Unlike the recipes above, which rely on vanilla pudding or cream cheese to help the pies set, this one needs homemade coconut pudding. However, I don’t think I will use this powder as an all-over setting powder in the future, just because for me it came off pink on the skin and I prefer a powder that’s transparent for setting my face as it doesn’t change the colour or tone of my makeup.

Overall, I like the build-able qualities of this product and the youthful glow that it gives, but, the glow does intensify as you apply more of the product, which I didn’t expect. The good thing is that it contains an SPF of 15 which is important in a product like foundation. I will probably use this product mostly in the summer as it’s a light-weight natural-looking product that improves the appearance of the skin without looking like your wearing tonnes of makeup. It is suitable for all ages and it is so simple to use! Now that we've covered how to apply foundation, let's talk about how not to apply foundation. Just avoid these common mistakes: 1. Don't skip the primer. On my skin the blush is a rosy berry tone which is lovely for autumn/winter, however, it isn’t a shade I would personally wear in the spring and summer months- but, it doesn’t mean you can’t! If you are looking for a blush that is easy to blend and gives you a nice flush of colour definitely have a look at this one! Next up we have a lovely Philosophy shower gel in their top scent. Amazing Grace is one of my favourites, in fact, I own the fragrance, so I was very pleased to see this behind drawer 21. If you like clean scents that make you think of fresh laundry then you will love this. Although a travel size this should last some time as only a little is needed to create a lather. A really nice product! This recipe calls for a baked, vegan Biscoff crust, which adds a pleasant caramel taste. Of course, you can use any vegan pie crust you prefer. To start we have a stunning Becca primer that although appears lavender toned actually applies translucent and transforms the skin into something brighter and fresher looking. I actually own the full-size product (you can read my thoughts on it here) and can only describe it as face glow in a bottle without the shimmer. Perfect for the winter months under foundation! I say 95% because it calls for Oreos, and there are some issues with their products being totally vegan. On day 13 you can expect a total treat with a good size mini of a Molten Brown body wash. Molton Brown go above and beyond what you would expect from a shower gel/body wash with only a little required for luxurious foam to form. This is also a body wash that scents the skin past getting out of the shower and does linger which is really nice. A nice multi-purpose oil here that smells absolutely gorgeous and feels glorious on the skin. It's also a good size sample and is a mini version of the full size, so it comes in a weighty glass bottle. I've used and loved this in the past, especially on damp hair before blow-drying and even on cuticles and dry skin. Another quality product from an established well-known French pharmacy brand.

This blush is a beautiful berry colour, which is not a blush colour I’d normally wear, but, it is very pigmented and blends so well! Before I applied my blush I bronzed up my face with Benefit Hoola bronzer (as there wasn’t a bronzer in the kit) and then I went ahead and decanted some of the blush into the lid; as I find that it is a good way to avoid applying too much product. What I like is that it is a compact blusher that will last for ages due to the mineral-based formulae. I was skeptical about how this foundation would apply and how much coverage it would give, as I have only used cream/liquid based foundations before and I like a medium-full coverage (Bourjois healthy mix being my current favourite). At first, I didn’t think it would cover up acne scarring on my cheeks, but, it actually did a pretty good job. To apply, I tapped a small amount of product into the lid and swirled the face brush (that was included in the kit) into the foundation. Then, I applied it in swirling motions to blend into my skin. I kept doing this until I got a coverage that I liked. I will say that this is a natural-looking foundation, therefore it doesn’t claim to cover up ALL imperfections as it has a light, build-able coverage. I think it would be great for people who don’t like to wear much makeup, but, still want something to enhance their skin.I am sorry for the ramble of a post! I just wanted to include everything from the kit in one. I hope you have enjoyed it. I found when applying that there was an unexpected glow to the product and I did have to blot this with another powder brush as my forehead and nose became very shiny looking! When I tested the foundation before it looked matte and chalky, but, on the skin it’s radiant and bronzy – I would recommend going to a Bare Minerals counter to test the products for yourself before buying if you are unsure.
