About this deal

The 2018 revision was the V2. There was another model before that. The 2021 revision is the third version of the RMx. They won't be labelled 2018 or 2021 on the box it's usually just how people refer to them to differentiate the different revisions.

How you update something that is already on top of its category? Corsair knows this well, because its people already did it with the highly popular RM850x. The newest revision of this product was introduced on 2021 featuring a magnetic leviation fan and three EPS connectors for power hungry CPUs. Efficient and Reliable: The 80+ Gold certification ensures high energy efficiency, reducing power wastage and operating costs.

The Corsair RM750x 750 Watt 80+ Gold Power Supply is a top-notch PSU that offers quiet and efficient performance, making it an excellent choice for high-performance systems. With its 80+ Gold certification, fully modular design, and zero RPM fan mode, this power supply delivers reliable and stable power while keeping noise levels to a minimum. cables make PC builds and upgrades easy, as you need only connect the cables your system requires. An RM850x PSU is quiet, efficient and dependable enough to power your highperformance Resonant LLC Topology with DC-to-DC Conversion: Provides clean, consistent power, reduces coil whine for quieter operation, and enables use of more energy efficient Electrolytic: 7x Nippon Chemi-Con (1-5,000h @ 105°C, KZE), 5x Nippon Chemi-Con (4-10,000h @ 105°C, KY), 2x Rubycon (4-10,000h @ @ 105°C, YXJ), 1x Rubycon (6-10,000h @ 105°C, ZLH) going with 3 single cables looks much neater though, but that would require buying separate cables, even if you went with the RMX1000. this one has 3 pigtail cables.. same cable clutter.

The reason for the three EPS12V is because Nvidia originally stated that they would be adapting 2x EPS12V to 12-pin for the Ampere FE cards. Then, at the last minute, changed that to 2x PCIe to 12-pin. By then it was too late to change the RMx cable configuration. As before, five sensible capacities ply the range - 550W, 650W, 750W, 850W, 1,000W - and certification stays at 80 PLUS Gold. Let's focus on what is new. Will anything bad happen if I connect an internal SSD to a USB port via an external adaptor when the port doesn't have the wattage to fully power it? After almost three years in production, Corsair decided to update its popular RMx line. There are again five members with capacities ranging from 550 W to 1000 W. All are fully modular, and the OEM is still Channel Well Technology. Listed below are the crucial changes over the RMx 2018 units with the RMx 2021 revision: The RM850x is rated Gold by both Cybenetics and 80 PLUS, and it also has a Cybenetics A- rating, meaning that its average noise output is within 25-30 dBA at normal operating temperatures (28-32°C). A more aggressive fan speed profile drives the magnetic bearing fan that the new model has, but still, the PSU’s noise won’t trouble you under normal conditions unless you are super sensitive.DC-DC Converters: 2x UBIQ QM3054M6 (30V, 61A @ 100°C, Rds(on): 4.8mOhm) & 3x UBIQ QN3107M6N (30V, 70A @ 100°C, Rds(on): 2.6mOhm) CORSAIR RM850x Series power supplies with EPS12V connectors are built with the highest quality components to deliver 80 PLUS Gold efficient power to your PC. RM850x PSUs use only Completely modular cables means you only connect the cables your system needs, and the wide range of included cables adds broad compatibility with modern graphics cards and motherboards. As you can see, the trio can be plumbed in concurrently, alongside two runs of dual 6+2-pin PCIe for a couple of high-powered graphics cards. Having a total of 14 SATA feels overkill in 2021, though. Silent Operation: The zero RPM fan mode ensures quiet operation during low to moderate system loads, keeping noise levels to a minimum.

All Japanese 105°C Capacitors: Premium internal components ensure unwavering power delivery and long-term reliability. Fully Modular Design: The fully modular cabling system allows for precise cable management, ensuring a clean and clutter-free build. Since this is an older unit, don’t expect to find 12VHPWR connectors, but I am sure Corsair will soon update its RMx line offering the new PCIe connectors. The three EPS connectors make this PSU suitable for potent mainboard-processor combinations, and the four PCIe connectors are enough for a powerful gaming system. Lastly, the amount of SATA connectors is insane! Protection Features Premium Build Quality: Corsair is a trusted brand known for producing high-quality power supplies, ensuring reliability and long-term performance.A specially set fan curve ensures that, even at full load, fan noise is kept to a minimum. ZERO RPM FAN MODE We find it curious that Corsair bundles three 8-pin CPU cables for this 850W model. Very few boards demand this level of power - AMD Ryzen Threadripper, mostly - so it's more of a keeping-the-bases covered kind of move than of current practical value. It actually makes more sense on the 1,000W model, which also has a trio of CPU plugs. The RM850x is my current (primary-PC) PSU ,for about 2 years now and i’m extremely satisfied by its performance. Could someone confirm whether this is the case or not and give a reason for the change if it is true, since I have been unable to find a MB that actually needs 3 CPU power cables but there are GPUs that need 3 GPU power cables? GPUs that require 3 cables are fine running on two pigtail cables, connected to the 3 PCIE connexions.
