On Friday 3 February, this new half hour documentary Kevin Sinfield: Going The Extra Mile follows Kevin on his journey through gruelling athletic challenges to raise money for charities helping people affected by motor neurone disease (MND), including his former Rugby League team mate Rob Burrow, who was diagnosed with the disease in 2019. As he pushed on further north, Sinfield - who was awarded an OBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours for fundraising and services to rugby league in June - was joined on one section by former Manchester City, Liverpool and England footballer Gemma Bonner.The only reason I didn't feel I could give a 5 star rating is because having personally ran the Leeds Marathon myself - seeing Sinfield and Burrows run the marathon together and then Kevin carrying Rob over the finish line - this felt like a better and more fuller end to this chapter of Kevin's life so far. To be honest before setting out on this challenge I wasn’t 100% sure we would complete it but your unwavering support has got us through.You can join them and help to raise awareness and fundraise for those like Rob who sadly have to fight motor neurone disease.
