About this deal

His burning need for his best friend's younger sister is surely a knee-jerk reaction to his problems. Ella has been locked away for ten years at an elite prep school for women and has no experience with boys/men. Both Ella and Gordain have baggage and issues with neither really believing that they are worthy of love.

We also see brothers Ally and Wasp growing up, thanks to the expense of time over which the book progresses. This can be a standalone book if you wish to do so but characters from the previous book and this book did make appears through the series. On a patch of flat ground behind the first rocky ridge, the helicopter waited, the last of the evening light reflecting off the glass cockpit. If you have gotten this far in this review and are still unsure about whether or not to pick up this book.

I rolled up his t-shirt sleeve, trying to concentrate while Gordain continued his distraction technique. On cramped limbs, I shrank back in the musty cupboard, the strip of daylight under the door slicing over my ballet flats. This book is about the younger brother of the Scottish Laird, Gordain who just happens to fall for the British Lord’s sister. Reaching the short distance between our seats, he gave my fingers a squeeze, and it should have felt reassuring, it had certainly been intended as friendly, yet heat painted my cheeks.

Gordain really is a hero, he swooped in and saved Ella when the dastardly dick was going crazy in her and James house, but now Gordain is avoiding her and when Ella asks him to marry her yeah that doesn't go as planned.I'd recommend reading the entire series though, because each book contains a wonderfully well-written love story and the characters reappear in future books. With every new book I read in this series I find myself falling more and more in love with these Highlanders, but also with Jolie Vines writing. He can be frustrating at times because he makes choices counter to his heart, and it causes issues between him and Ella.

It had been my mother’s, and even though it wasn’t particularly valuable, I’d kept it with me through the long years following the destruction of my family. Jolie Vines is a relatively new author to me and I am new to narrator Fergus Ryan whose performance I really enjoyed. This is the power of Vines’s story-telling, and it’s the reason that you should read her books, namely Hero.

At times I just want to shake some sense into these two as everyone knows they are meant to be together, but then I also understand Gordain's hesitation about Ella's age but also the other strife going on in his life. At 17, she's far too young for him, but when she turns 18 and needs a husband to stop her evil uncle from stealing her inheritance, the only man she wants for the job is Gordain. The third instalment in the Marry the Scot contemporary romance series takes you away to big love in the splendour of the Scottish Highlands. This story is an amazing work of art, highly recommended for anyone looking for a modern-day Highlander to swoon over. Both were very likeable and realistic characters who had endured the pain caused by traumatic childhood experiences.
