About this deal

The Solo Stove collection’s smallest fire pit. The Ranger is ideal for people who live on the go, in limited places, and in cities. Flipping the top ring and lighting your fire is all that is required for setup. I’m done now! But is the Solo Stove Bonfire 2.0 really smokeless? This has to be the million-dollar question and the answer, from me, is yes. And no. Why not enjoy a night under the stars with the Solo Stove Ranger. Outdoor living was never so warm and cosy with this outdoor garden heater! The ultimate portable fire pit

You won’t have to switch seats to escape smoke every time the wind changes thanks to the Ranger’s distinctive design. Every seat surrounding this fire pit is the best seat possible thanks to our design! MORE FLAME, LESS SMOKE With bottom vent holes that allow oxygen to feed the fire from below while the double walls warm it, the camping stove’s double wall design maximizes airflow and the burning process. This reduces smoke without the use of batteries or fans like home fireplaces. Dimensions of the Ranger are: 38cm in diameter and 32cm high, on the stand it is 35cm high. It only weighs 6.8kg. To fuel the fire, cool air enters through the bottom vents and travels between the two layers of stainless steel where it is heated. Cool air entering the bottom vents enables the fire to constantly have a plenty of oxygen. This continuous supply of air, and rolling flame effect, results in more thorough combustion and a hotter fire with less smoke. The rim at the top of the bonfire is also angled to help control smoke flow. The carry bag is substantial and doubles as a cover once the Bonfire 2.0 has fully cooled. I didn’t find it very easy to get the Bonfire 2.0 into the bag without assistance, but once in, it’s definitely easier to carry. Because of its weight, I wouldn’t want to schlep it very far though! The magic happens right here! Warm air is pushed out over the fire as it enters the double wall structure. This causes a second burn, which extinguishes the little wood particles that would have been smoke. The distinctive flame pattern that so many customers adore is also produced by these higher vents! Rangers Standing Utilize your Ranger portable stove to its fullest potential by putting it to greater use! The stand accessory’s adequate airflow enables you to use your portable fire pit on surfaces that are more heat-sensitive. First for the science bit. Solo Stove’s smokeless situation works via secondary burn, made possible thanks to its double-skin steel construction with vent holes at the top and bottom. Cool air is pulled through the bottom, heats up within the double cavity, and rises to the top, which invokes secondary combustion as the hot air exits the top vents.

The base plate permits the fire to receive constant air while enabling the burned ash to fall into the ash pan. This guarantees that no wood is wasted! Fire wood burns more effectively than in conventional fire pits because more oxygen can get to the fuel source. The heat radius of your Ranger fire pit is enlarged by the Heat Deflector to accommodate additional guests or year-round outdoor relaxation. Heat Deflector gathers and directs hot air where it is most needed as it rises and disperses. With genuine warmth, take advantage of being outside all year long to get closer to the people that matter most to you. Heat Deflector adapts to your fire pit experience and is compatible with the majority of accessories, producing special moments. AN EFFICIENTER BURN A more thorough burn means that the top vents burn up the tiny particles that would have formed smoke. It also means that an indoor fire pit with no smoke won’t need to deal with any more partially burned logs. The Solo Stove Ranger Fire Pit Kit includes a Ranger Stand made of stainless steel with rounded edges and airflow vents. Rounded edges prevent marking. The subsequent elevation with air vents prevents heat damage on most surfaces. This kit gives you an easy outdoor log burner or outdoor garden heater with stand and bag. Lighting the Bonfire 2.0 is the same as lighting a woodburner indoors, or any other fire for that matter. Apart from a decade renting in various cities, I’ve always lived in the country, in homes featuring some form of wood fire. This meant I didn’t need Solo Stove’s fire lighting instructions but they’re fairly standard, and I was glad to read I’ve been doing it right all these years.Installation is straightforward. Centre your Ranger on top of the stand, and presto, you are ready to go! Place your Solo Stove Ranger Stand inside the Ranger for easy storage and transport. Admittedly, the price tag is high, especially considering you can make a fire pit out of a steel shopping basket, dustbin or old washing machine drum! However, the Solo Stove Bonfire 2.0 burns very efficiently, and uses precious little fuel, while producing barely any ash, and is more or less smokeless, all of which means it punches way above regular fire pits. And, if you do buy into the Solo Stove hype, you should be set for life thanks to its lifetime guarantee.

gloved in a hot environment pit. Make that the legs or Hub are securely nested inside the fire pit’s outer lip. Heat Deflector was designed to work perfectly with Ranger and has a sturdy build that gives it the power to control the irrational heat. Heat Deflector bears the force of the flame by pressing into a precisely angled disc, which directs heat downward rather than upward. With Heat Deflector, you can divert your Ranger’s distinctive heat while encouraging vital airflow. Adaptable design My main – and completely unscientific – test for the presence of smoke basically came down to whether or not I had to wash my hair before bed! I can’t stand the smell of smoke-filled hair, and on those windier days, I did have to take a shower. The only thing left in the outdoor garden heater is ultra-fine ash and very little at that! The deceivingly simple design makes the Solo Stove Range fire pit easy to clean. Lose yourself as you stare into a hypnotising fire ring and enjoy a near smokeless camping fire pit. The Ranger Fire Pit Kit with StandI can’t decide if I love the design, or find it a bit ‘blah’, but it’s certainly not offensive in any way and there’s no doubt the build quality is good. When we tested the Solo Stove Bonfire 2.0 on a more inclement day – when there were mild Spring-time winds but nothing that would dry your sheets in record time – the firepit was more or less smokeless. But, on the days when we tested it when the wind appeared to be coming from three directions – as it often does here on the edge of Dartmoor – its smokeless powers failed somewhat. It may not push out quite the same levels of heat that our regular and much bigger, single skin, fire pit does, but I’ve read that’s the payoff when considering any low smoke firepit. The double-cavity required to achieve those mesmerising rolling flames, and the smoke reduction, inadvertently acts as heat insulation.
