It's got this sweet-fresh thing going on, with what I'm guessing is a lot of lemon and maybe the grapefruit. Its quite okay but thats about it, opens up with harsh citruses and all notes are aggressively competing against each other, settles into sweet lavender powdery scent backed with citrus freshness, has a little salty feel to it hence the "sea notes" but the dry-down is pretty much devoid of it, smooth nontheless. Unlike Dior Sauvage, it will not offend anyone but unless the longevity is far longer than the Chanels,(I will soon find out) it will stay in their shadows til it will sink into oblivion.It definitely opens strong with grapefruit and lemon, ginger, jasmine and a little bit of apple in the middle and birch in the base. Now this was probably less than 30 minutes after having sprayed it and projection dies down a bit after a few hours but still very impressive.
It's a smoky and dark version of bleu de chanel, which is a bar of soap that smells sexy and refreshing. Don't know how people get 6 hours + out of this, really makes me laugh, but maybe it's just my skin. Opening you get hit with citrus and as it dries down you get a nice watery citrus and it’s very nice and refreshing.
I was looking for a freshie/gym-friendly fragrance, seeing as YSL Y EDP is just way too strong on my skin, to make it work for the summer/gym setting. Almost like taking a bath with mandarins and you get a synthetic lightly, salty mandarin water scent that lasts 6 hours. The very forefront of the opening stinks of alcohol which is followed by a burst of juicy citrus and salt.
Picked this one up recently in preparation for the warmer weather in a couple of months time in the UK. I feel this is a great substitute for when you don't want to fork our the extra dough for Bleu de Chanel. If BdCh smells synthetic, this does too, however, a tad too much: it lacks the complexity while at the same time verges on one or two notes rather than those of the original. This fragrance sits closer to the skin and doesn't project as much, making it more suitable for office situations. Please do not comment , if do not live near the warm coast and you need to wash clothes at least 1 time per day.When it was released in 2017, I originally hated it for the longest time because of how the synthetic apple and ginger were done as well as the persistent projection. At first smell, it is very synthetic, smells like a citrusy air freshener, but a few minutes later, it’s all good. Being there is a perfumery listed, I would be curious, cause I haven't checked, but I was interested in if they did this scent with Versace and Chanel in mind or it turned into that closeness on its own. The only thing missing from Missoni before BDC is the light smokiness and minty chill that BDC has in EDT.
The legendary aromatic spiciness of Versace Pour Homme meets the creamy, sweet, relaxed and upscale persona of Chanel Allure Homme Sport. Opens as an aromatic, synthetic marine aroma with a hint of something spicy like pepper and also some sweetness. I did some more applications to follow and they did smell somewhat similar to BDC but slightly soapy. Highly recommended, just be wary of over spraying in hot weather, because Wave can go a bit sweet and powdery if over applied. There's something small in this part of the dry down that reminds me of an old school 80s/early 90s scent.
In the UK right now its pretty cold and wet and this fragrance still lasts around 7hrs on my skin in these conditions so I look forward to seeing how well it performs in the summer. Watch out folks, diddleydaddy is on Fragrantica and he will disparage your taste if you do not like what he likes, which is probably questionable because he loves clones. Which tells me that actually the projection must be long lasting but i obviously become anosmic to it as i go through the day. I kept seeing it mentioned in reviews and finally got a bottle and despite the hype, I was still surprised at how nice this smells. I tested BDC EDT and Missoni together and Missoni is on my skin for 9+ hours where BDC is unfortunately gone after 5.
