About this deal

The dragon looks hilarious with the fire coming out of the chin but when you close the mouth, you hardly see it so it's not really that much of a problem. The star of this set, is the massive Lego dragon which hasn’t made an appearance since the Fantasy Era subtheme in 2007 where we had knights and dwarves duking it out against skeletons, trolls and dragons. But there are loads of other features as well; a wizard, a damsel in distress, a working catapult, a prison cell, a treasure, magical potions, a hidden wizard lair a dragon knight and two brave king knights. His staff is very well designed, managing to look extremely imposing – something that all Dragon Wizards should own. The problem is that the clay is extremely soft and kinda sticky; when trying to model it around a minifig head, it will always stick to the figure itself and if I try to get it off, it tends to deform and even break. While I like the idea of the villain's HQ being built on the ruins of an old structure and while the bottom sections are my favorite parts of the set, they are also the set's undoing.

Looking at it nowaday, it seems to me that this set must be the best of the whole Dragon Knights bunch. For all the shortcomings of the exterior, I’m glad that they paid quite a bit of attention to the interiors. On the back of the box we see how the Dragon wings work, the catapult firing, the Kings Knight saving the captured Princess, A Dragon Knight having a meal when he should be keeping an eye on the princess and the Dragon Wizard concocting potions in his little potion room. I like the great use of colours used to construct the catapult – the blues, browns, greys and gold accents works really well together.

This set contains the Dragon Knights' small fortress, the Wizard's Dragon, the King's Knights' Catapult, a treasure chest, and five minifigures: Dragon Wizard with a staff, a Dragon Soldier with a sword and a shield, a fully armored King's Knight with a sword and a shield, a . On the positive side of things, the figures are all excellent, the dragon is nice, and the catapult is surprisingly well designed, but that is not enough to save this set. We get 2 keys, which I assume are used to lock up princesses, 2 vials of magic potions and a very cool bone candle, no doubt used for whatever dark arts the Evil Wizard Practices. I’ve never owned a mega-sized dragon before so this is a nice novelty beast to add to my collection. The toy is also a perfect gift for a 7-year-old and a fantastic way to teach kids to build and follow instructions.Contact Us LEGO, the LEGO logo, the Minifigure, and the Brick and Knob configurations are trademarks of the LEGO Group of Companies. The Castle theme is one of LEGO’s primary themes first introduced in 1978 and based around medieval life with castles and knights. King's Knight with Armor and sword comes with a double side face print, printed front and back King's Breastplate torso, printing on the legs, He also has printed armor and a large shield with a lions head.
