About this deal

sheet capacity paper tray adjustable for letter or legal and a straight-through paper path via manual feed slot for envelope printing. I'm not exactly sure what makes the toner come out on mine, I'm guessing it's perhaps fused at a temperature which is too low, so take all these into consideration before committing. For most jobs the printer actually has to stop printing and wait for data to come trough before printing the next set of pages.

In terms of print speed, you’ll be happy to know the HL-3140CW is capable of reaching up to 18ppm for both mono and colour prints. The toner lasts for ages, and even when it does run out, Brother toner always comes in far cheaper than toner from other manufacturers - not that you'll notice the difference on day to day printing when compared against more expensive premium brands. One good thing about this printer is that toners can be reset, so potentially one could recharge them or use them till they are really exhausted. Helping your pages show crisp text alongside vibrant colour graphics is the 2400 x 600dpi print resolution the Brother HL-3140CW is capable of.Use the Secure Function Lock feature to set color page counts or restrict color printing for up to 25 users. Colour toner page yield: 2200 pages, Printing colours: Yellow, Quantity per pack: 1 pc(s)Original Brother toner is formulated to meet high quality resolution, grey scale and block colour, in line with Brother high design specification. To clear the memory, take the toner and drum out, power off and unplug the printer for 15 minutes, plug everything back in and re-install the toner/drums and the memory should be cleared down. If these tips don't work for you it could be that the printer's memory hasn't been cleared properly. Despite being a one function machine, this laser printer will still be an excellent addition to your workplace as it’s a device that can help you share documents with ease.

I'd intended this to be connected up in a utility room, well away from any computer, and connected up only by an RJ-45 patch cable. Maximum number of printed pages per month and can be used to compare designed durability between like Brother products.

I have no issues with other wireless devices (B/G/N) and I have a Samsung printer that prints whatever is sent to it in one go, without interruptions. The printer seems to expect you to connect to its own hotspot, rather than it joining your existing network. Depending on your level of perfectionism, you may consider it good enough for PowerPoint handouts and the like. The output is easily good enough to print recognizable images from Web pages, but I wouldn't consider using its photos for anything much more demanding than that.

Most of my current work for PCMag is about printers and projectors, but I've covered a wide variety of other subjects—in more than 4,000 pieces, over more than 40 years—including both computer-related areas and others ranging from ape language experiments, to politics, to cosmology, to space colonies.Sadly this isn't an option with this printer, so it has to be set up next to my main computer (where space is already at a premium), as it's the only way I can connect the printer's USB lead. The HL3140CW is an LED printer, which means it works much like a laser printer except that it uses LEDs instead of a laser to draw the image of each page on a photosensitive drum. Photo quality is the one truly weak link for the printer, with a level of quality I rarely see outside of mono lasers. The size and weight make the printer more appropriate for a micro office or a small workgroup than for a home office, with Wi-Fi support giving you a way to share it if you need to. For maximum printer life, it is best to choose a printer with a duty cycle that far exceeds your print requirements.
