In my opinion the story in my mind continues to be the mismanagement of the resources at the studio with the countless bugs, no console review codes and no meaningful next-generation patch. But if this is anything like The Witcher 3, the game will really come into its intended form after some patches and upgrades. Seems like a disappointed pass at the moment for me.

Was the update that is supposed to completely change the console version installed (I’m not even sure it’s out yet)? PS5 is unsurprisingly the best place to play that isn't a PC and I can't wait to play in Night City at 60fps! It's going to be mightily tempting to play on PS5 this Friday but I'm going to be patient and wait for 60FPS 4K next year. After hearing the Digital Foundry PC early take, I need the best possible console version. I've waited 7 years already, what's a few more months?!

Update: Oh boy... It seems as though Cyberpunk 2077 has a bad habit of crashing on PS5 (we assume that this is also the case on PS4). We ran into a couple of crashes before originally penning this article, but since then, we've had a software-closing crash every hour and a half of play, or thereabouts.
