And who can be better in religion than one who submits his face (himself) to Allâh ( i.e. follows Allâh’s religion of Islâmic Monotheism); and he is a Muhsin (a good-doer - See V.2:112). And follows the religion of Ibrâhîm[1](Abraham) Hanîfa (Islâmic Monotheism - to worship none but Allâh Alone). And Allâh did take Ibrâhîm (Abraham) as a Khalîl (an intimate friend)! For the Sufi, each name also holds a different spiritual power that can be accessed via meditative chants called dhikr. The Shams al-Ma’arif takes this one step further and is a treatise on the properties of each of Allah’s names. It claims reciting the different names in certain ways can grant believers access to divine powers and magics. Publisher: FAR Ancient Publications Ltd; reproduction of original16th century ed edition (July 2006)  Language Arabic  ISBN-10: 1905934017  ISBN-13: 978-1905934010  Average Customer Review: Be the first to review this item The Shams al-Ma'arif combines magic squares, Arabic letter magic, Quranic verses and the names of Allah with astrological timing. Since there are 28 letters of the Arabic alphabet and 28 Arabic Mansions of the Moon, the letter correspondences of the Mansions are particularly influential. Like Picatrix the Shams al-Ma'arif is much more than simply a recipe book of talismans, which are typically secondary to its main purpose of elucidating esoteric knowledge and occult sciences as well as exemplifying Sufi wisdom.

Urdu, Darul Ishaat, Karachi, Pakistan: 1978.In 2023 another English translation of the Shams al Ma'arif was published by Johann Voldemont as ''Shams al-Ma'arif:Talismans and Magic Squares'' which focuses primarily on the talismans and magic squares contained within the text. [17] Outside of the Arab and Western world, several editions of the book have been published in the Urdu and Turkish languages. Only by returning to the One can all things be seen as they truly are.

Nineveh Shadrach, Magic That Works: Practical Training for the Children of Light, Ishtar Publishing, 2005, p. 228 Verily! Allâh forgives not (the sin of) setting up partners (in worship) with Him, but He forgives whom He wills sins other than that, and whoever sets up partners in worship with Allâh, has indeed strayed far away Shams Al-Ma'arif Al-Kobra: v. 2: Illumination of Knowledge [Hardcover] Ahmad Al-Buni (Author) Book Description This is volume 2 a continuation of the original manuscript of Shams al-ma'arif al-kobra (The Illumination of Knowledge) by renowned Sufi Ahmed ibn 'Ali ibn Yusuf al-Buni (d1225). It is one of the most widely read medieval treatise on talismans, magic square and prayers of protection against magic. It also includes a number of sciences including ilm al-Hikmah (knowledge of Wisdom), ilm al-simiyah (study of Divine Names) and Ruhaniyat (spirituality).Shams al-Ma'arif or Shams al-Ma'arif wa Lata'if al-'Awarif [a] is a 13th-century grimoire centered on Arabic magic and claimed to be a manual for achieving esoteric spirituality. It was written by the scholar Ahmad al-Buni who wrote it while living in Algeria; he died around 1225 CE (622 AH). [1] The book is a patchwork of bits and pieces of al-Buni's authentic works, and texts by other authors. [2] Scholars like Ibn Taymiyyah have criticized the book and labeled al-Buni as a deluded devil worshipper. [3] [4] Narratives of Danger: The Sun of Knowledge in Arabic Occulture". Leidenislamblog. Fī Asmāʼ Allāh al-Ḥusná, wa-anmāṭihā, wa-mā li-kull namaṭ min al-daʻawāt." Islam accepts, appreciates and reveres all three of these noble Prophets and Messengers, accepts all of the revealed scripture (in its original form) and Muslims make no distinction between them. There message was the same, their religion, one religion, that of Islam - the submission to Allah (the One true God) alone. And since the manifestation of Science belongs to the sanctified spirits, the spirit of the angel Jibrāīl is destined to instruct the prophets, being one of the noblest our prophet Muhammad, God bless and save him! who was inspired by humility, for Allah said: "He has taught an angel of great power and strength, since he appeared in his true form."
