About this deal

Using SACC, we can clearly see how the Whynter has a better cooling capacity compared to the Honeywell. Both single-hose and dual-hose models have advantages, so you’ll need to consider your needs and budget before purchasing. Through the intake, the air is drawn into the unit, where it is cooled and then sent back into the living area. Dual-hose ACs usetwo separate hoses—one for drawing in air for cooling and one for expelling hot air and excess moisture. Just tried the air con unit and i must say it is a fantastic product for the money, you will not find anything better at this cost, my father in law bought a similar air con unit (same BTU) but mine completely blows it away.

In a portable air conditioner the condenser is part of the whole portable system – it’s indoors along with that system. Furthermore, 24-hour programmer, remote control, activated carbon filters, washable pre-filter, three fan speeds, and quiet operation are other features of the portable air conditioner. It comes with a patented auto-drain function that removes leftover condensate to keep the unit working at the top level and increases the lifespan, so you shouldn’t run into any issues.A: Dual hose portable air conditioners are often a better choice than single hose air conditioners or fans as they cool the room quicker. it does what it says, it cools the room, in fact if you’re sat with the unit pointed at you from the other side of the room, on the coldest climate setting of 16°C at the lowest fan speed after a few minutes you would need to put a jacket on (I measured the air being put out at around 2°C).

They use two hoses to accelerate the cooling process and come with programmable timers, controls both on-board and remote, as well as washable filters to maintain quality and performance.test room and the lower the temperature it would be able to achieve in that test room given 2 hours of run time. We tested each unit in the peak summer heat, comparing their cooling power head-to-head using calibrated high-end thermometers and temperature loggers. So in my mind at least the heat exchange is similar to a central ac unit the front and back of the portable unit act similar to air handler and outside unit, the room air is cooled while the warm exchange is separate, with outside air only being used to cool the compressor and inside air only being cooled.

If you are living in an area where you are going to be running the air conditioner during more than just the hottest summer months, you probably want to place a higher priority on this metric and take a closer look at models that performed well in these tests. We’ve had a pretty mild summer but there have been a few sweltering evenings, and seeing as I sometimes have this unit in a room with a high end PC that kicks out some serious heat I’d say it’s a fair test. It also uses an auto-evaporation system so that I didn't have to drain water from it every few days.It also has an added heater function which is something you don’t always find and will be a nice touch for when we don’t really need the central heating on when it’s just a bit chilly. The 10,000 BTU SereneLife is rated for 350 square feet, while the 12,000 BTU Whynter Elite is rated for rooms up to 400 square feet. If you’re at level ONE and would like to change to speed TWO, you must select speed TWO from the control panel or the remote control.
