About this deal

Well, on the album, there's some cheeky messages to people, by the use of certain lyrics and certain bands." And even sort of putting the Sex Pistols in, those are just records I really like. I don’t have to sort of try and be a dance DJ, you know, you’ve got the Chemicals and Fat Boy Slim doing that stuff. So I felt that, what I’m about, what music I do actually like, you know, is really old school hip-hop, punk and the breaks. The type of people that will buy this record will be the people that want to know what goes on inside my head when I’m in the studio writing the music, and so that’s basically the whole idea behind it, you know.” Beastie Boys 'It's The New Style'. Insanely well done! 2021-12-06T09:46:46Z Comment by Rubes Ov-Ludd (formerly known as Fergus O'Connor) Marley Marl and MC Shan, " Marley Marl Scratch" ('give 'em an example how a DJ works Sample) (uncredited) (1985) I guess this mix album does underline the sort of love I have for that type of music more than a Prodigy release would,” he shrugs. “I think the record kind of speaks for itself, and people will get their own ideas of what it is that I am about, and it should finally make people also understand what the band is about.

Versions

There's not much respite from the high-octane tempo, which some more varied dynamics might have remedied. The mix also gets tedious in the middle, with the KLF, Frankie Bones and Meat Beat Manifesto sequence overplayed, and the Beastie Boys sounding like chipmunks as they try to keep up with some blistering Propellerheads big beat. You need to buy this CD if you're a hardcore, real Prodigy fan. If you're the kind of person who thinks "Full Throttle" or "One Love" are musical genius, buy this immediately and listen close. You will absolutely be thankful you did. Mantronix, "Who is It" (Freestyle Mix) (Trumpet Riff sample + 'Get Down!' sample ) (uncredited) (1986) Fat Boy Slim 'Punk To Funk'. This mix never gets old)) Pure classic, amazingly mixed! 2019-09-24T05:30:50Z Comment by Matt Woolly No timeout, lots of passion, welcome to the world of sonic collages. More than a history course, this mix contributed to expand the musical culture of lots of people at the time, suggesting that beyond the basics of all genres (tempo, pace, melody, instrument, sampling...), one could make the connection between all these parameters. Jane's Addiction 'Been Caught Stealing'. EMI Virgin Music Limited. (P) 1997 Warner Bros Records Inc (Licensed courtesy of Warner Special Products). When I did it, I really enjoyed it. The album is just me - the music is where the inspiration for the Prodigy comes from. It won't sell many copies but it's important that the fans have something that's full of stuff that's in my head when I'm writing The inspirations: Double Dee And Steinski, Coldcut, Big Apple Productions, Flash On The Wheels Of Steel, DJ Cheese, Cash Money, Cutmaster Swift, Mixmaster Mike, Scratch Piklz and the Artists on this record. Extra thanx goes out to: John Lydon, Jimmy Cauty, Bill Drummond, Mary Anne Hobbs, Martin James, Kathy (Beggars), R To The R.

James Brown, " Talkin' Loud and Sayin' Nothing" (Keep on singin', keep on singin'! sample) (uncredited) (1972) Music For The Jilted Generation with its claustrophobic slap and morphic sting soared into the number one slot on the British album charts, spurred a Mercury Award nomination and went on to sell over 1 million copies globally. It was fractious, bombastic and blatant. Dark break beats clashed with maniacal acrylic guitars and gave Howlett kudos that he never managed to live down.Barry White 'I'm Gonna Love You Just A Little Bit More Babe'. Published by Warner Chappell Music Ltd. (P) 1973 Polygram Records Inc (NY). Licensed from Polygram Licensing Division. In October 1995, Liam Howlett and the rest of the Prodigy saw Oasis play Earl's Court in London. At the after-show party, Liam Gallagher approached the band, announced their ferocious live show was too much for his delicate sensibilities then declared his love for their single, 'Poison'. Which he then began to sing - very badly. Moments later, Noel Gallagher took Howlett aside and whispered his belief that the Prodigy kingpin was the only credible songwriter in dance music. As Howlett later admitted, the compliment was appreciated. Also 'Extra thanx goes out to: John Lydon, Jimmy Cauty, Bill Drummond, Mary Anne Hobbs, Martin James, Kathy (Beggars), to the R.' Home – usually an alien concept for Howlett – is the lush English Essex countryside. Relaxation is found amidst the foliage of the bonsai trees in his newly-constructed Japanese garden, or mixing up The Dirtchamber Sessions over the course of five days.
