About this deal

There are two tabs that hang off the left and right sides of the inside of the capo. I pointed them out in the image above. The Shubb capo design combined with both the speed of a trigger capo, and the precision of a screw capo…

Learning how to use a guitar capo means you can explore alternate tunings and chord voicings. This can sound amazing. Because the fingers are easy enough to adjust individually, if you can think of a way to use the Spider Capo in this fashion, you could technically change tunings mid song, without too much difficulty. One example might be moving from a major tuning to a minor tuning mid stream. Alternate guitar tunings can be so much fun, but they’re often a bit clunky to work with on the fly. This can change that quite easily. The Bottom Line On the handling part it is a bit fiddly compared to a regular capo, but you can adjust it to fit any fingerboard width. Also, the tension on the strings can be gauged, which is good as it limits tuning issues.Plus you can’t fret the open string of the fret the capo is attached to. Who Will The Spider Capo Be Most Useful For? Solution: Look at the capo chart below and put the capo in a place where you CAN play the chords! Capo chart Generally, capos can be divided into radiused capos for rounder fretboards; flatter designs, typically for shreddy SuperStrats and classical guitars; and all-in-ones – capos that either accommodate different radiuses (such as the G7th) or incorporate both a flat surface and a rounded one into their design. Do capos fit all guitars? Sometimes we simply want things to sound different, to give a song a bit more texture or character. Need to move your capo mid-song? No problem! Just grab the Axis and move it. The springs deal with the tensioning for you. As long as you’re careful not to bend the strings in the process, capos don’t come easier to use than this.

There are two obvious limitations on what the SpiderCapo can do. One is that it can only be used at one fret, so you can’t, for instance, use it to simultaneously raise the A string a tone and the G string half a tone. The other is that any strings you leave uncapo’d can’t be manually fretted at the fret where the SpiderCapo is placed. So, for example, although you can theoretically use the SpiderCapo at the second fret to turn DADGAD into a sort of standard tuning, you cut off the all-important second-fret notes on the A, D and G strings in doing so. Ernie Ball’s tasty-looking Axis capo sure has curb appeal but its talents aren’t purely skin-deep. Its main strength is easy, one-handed operation. Then again, I guess I haven’t seen all the cheap capos out there. I imagine there are some pretty shady ones that don’t work well because they’re made out of something unusual. First and foremost, we are guitarists, and we want other players to find the right product for them. So we take into careful consideration everything from budget to feature set, ease of use and durability to come up with a list of what we can safely say are the best pedalboard power supplies on the market right now. Additionally, because the entire mechanism is different than the standard clamp style capo, you can actually adjust the tension placed on each string individually, which is an added bonus that can help you tweak out any buzzing that might occur.
