About this deal

Ah, the million-dollar question. Most manufacturers state that a boiling water tap costs about 3p/day to run when in standby mode (although electricity prices have changed dramatically since such claims were made). A kettle, by comparison, costs about 2p to boil a litre of water. So, making the equivalent of 10, 300ml mugs of tea a day could cost as little as 10 pence in total. QETTLE Signature’s Mini partner also offers 100°C boiling water and filtered drinking water. The perfect smaller sibling to a standard mixer tap. BUY QETTLE SIGNATURE MINI

QETTLE is surprisingly simple. Underneath the sink, there’s a compact boiler tank and a filter system. The efficient, insulated tank maintains its volume of water at 100°C. The filter system removes unpleasant contaminants such as chlorine from the flow of drinking water, whilst also minimising the damaging effect of limescale on the boiler tank’s element. That last point is an important one as many people ask about the cost and energy usage of hot water taps.Because of this, there is usually a limit as to how much hot water is available at any one time, but there is a good chance you won’t have to wait long for it to all reheat. Things To Consider Look for clearance or discontinued items: QETTLE may have clearance or discontinued items available at a lower price. These products are still of high quality and can provide significant savings compared to their regular-priced counterparts. The Grohe Red is available with two sizes of titanium-coated boiler – 3 and 5.5 litres. Bear in mind that Grohe’s boilers are quite large, so carefully measure your sink cupboard and choose the smaller boiler if necessary. We love the name of this filter tap, but it’s also a compact and practical solution if you’re after a do-it-all model that won’t be too obtrusive in your kitchen. It serves up hot water at a not-quite-boiling 98ºC, but also functions as a competent hot and cold tap too. Lots of homes have one. Many are doing away with a kettle altogether and installing an instant hot water tap – and you can do it retrospectively too.

The tap is nice, looks lovely and my wife prefers the boiling tap operation to the Franke - which is spring loaded - this allows you to leave the tap filling a pan or teapot and not stand getting splashed with boiling water. It took us a little while to adapt to not putting a squirt of filtered water in on the end of the boiling water - a more positive stop might help. I have to admit, it’s like we’ve forgotten what it’s like without a kitchen appliance such as this. What is a boiling water tap? This 4-in-1 is easy to install and comes with great instructions to follow. The temperature reaches 100˚C (boiling point) unlike other boiling taps on the market, and it is stored at 105˚C, ready for when you need it next. There is a ten minute recovery time so you don’t have to wait long for it to refill, and it provides up to 10 cups at any one time thanks to the 4L storage tank.Hot water taps look like normal taps, they feed you hot and cold water as you’d normally expect, but they also connect to their own hot water tank under the sink, to give you boiling water too.

Designed & Engineered in the UK - By a team that has been designing and manufacturing taps in the UK for over 30 years. There are also some which produce fizzy carbonated water too, but these are rarer. You pay a price for these features, but if you think you’d get the use out of them then it could be a good investment. Safety Like the InSinkErator, this model dispenses the water in a thin stream that is perfect for pre-heating small cups. However, it will take a while to fill an entire saucepan. The GROHE Red technology then allows you to draw up to four litres of filtered kettle-hot water directly from the tap in an instant, so there is no waiting around. The fabulous team at QETTLE are offering one Love Chic Living reader the exact tap I’ve reviewed here as a prize in our giveaway. Boiling water taps provide households with the luxury of instant hot water without the need to use any kettles or add to household bills from boiler use. Some can act as just a kettle separate to your ordinary tap, and some are all-in-one, replacing your existing one. The Etal 3-in-1 is one of the cheapest ways to get near-boiling water out of your tap. Available through Screwfix, the square-shaped Etal heats water to temperatures between 75˚C and 98°C. To change the temperature simply tap the boiler’s digital touch control. Highly visual and tactile, it provides peace of mind for children or more vulnerable members of the family. Finally, it feels like a perfect way to add some innovation into the home. If you love creative features in your home, if you invest in smart home tech, new ideas and keep your home up to date with latest technologies, then you’ll love the boiling water tap as much as we do.
