About this deal

Benicio and Lawrence's birth tragically caused the death of their mother, Rosalind. They were raised by their father, Lord Haldur Lorelei, and they only knew their great-aunt Katerine as a mother figure. Benicio had an itch for danger from an early age and was impatient to undergo the Taming, enter his adult life and flex his power. [6] Lucius' Moon Domain is apparently unrelated to the Moon Domain presented in Tal'Dorei Campaign Setting Reborn, although it may have served as an inspiration for Matthew Mercer to create a new one for Exandria. Since TJ took an adapted subclass from an older edition, it could be interpreted as if Lucius' discipline as a cleric was more old-fashioned (in the same way that other elements of older editions of Dungeons and Dragons are considered ancient knowledge in the world of Exandria). The siblings brought Haldur to his chambers, where he explained the whole situation and the truth behind his own mother's death, as well as the identity of the drow as his own father and Geneviève's former lover; he told them to learn from such a dark incident in their family history, asking them to help him seal the tomb again in the coming weeks, [15] and expressing how much he loved his children. [16] After such intense events he fell asleep, leaving Benicio and his siblings thinking about the future of House Lorelei. [17] Relationships [ ] Lawrence Lorelei [ ] Ryder was obsessed with this dark and brooding scene, which he worked over more than any of his other paintings. The tragic scene and his inability to let it go may in fact symbolize Ryder's realization that he was never to find a woman to love. From the mid-1890s until his death in 1917, he strove for the perfection of his inner vision, even though he pronounced the painting "finished" in 1896. Visitor after visitor remarked on the constantly changing position of Lorelei within the painting. When the Lorelei siblings reunited again, the three youngest showed the firstborn the dagger, and Aurra recognized its scent, comparing it to that of a guest their parents had hosted part of the summer when she was six, adding that the individual (possibly an elf in disguise, according to Benicio's own theory) had not given her a good feeling. The siblings continued exploring, prepared for a confrontation; while they were in the forest, Benicio took the opportunity to play a prank on his twin, telling him that the full moon was transforming Larry's hands to distract him before making him slap himself with them. At the family mausoleum, they found three humans who had camped there. A small battle ensued, in which one of the humans raised some of the Lorelei skeletons as undead, and the three youngest Lorelei siblings showed off their hemocraft as they fended off the skeletons. After the battle was over, having interrogated Ray, one of the intruders, before Benicio finished of with his glaive (she said that she and the other two intruders were working for the mysterious elf and were supposed to weaken the Lorelei siblings), they ended up taking a short rest. During that break Portia berated her older siblings for their decision to bury Katerine in the woods, away from the rest of House Lorelei, and Benny supported her, saying he wanted to be buried in the correct place. Aurra, however, defended her decision, saying that the old woman deserved a natural burial, and Lucius pointed out that half of their deceased ancestors were wandering the Cyrengreen Forest as undead anyway (an effect of one of the intruder's magic). [10] During that same pause the youngest sibling asked Lucius if he had promised chastity as a cleric, to which he pointed out that his goddess, Sehanine, was the goddess of secret romances, prompting Portia to clarify that Lucius had an active love life, to the surprise of Benicio. [11]

Mechanically speaking, Portia uses an outdated version (from Wayfinder's Guide to Eberron) of the abilities of humans with the Mark of Passage, one of the dragonmarks from Eberron. Since these marks are specific to the world created by Keith Baker and do not have an equivalent in Exandria, within Critical Role canon Portia is currently considered a Variant Human, faster than usual and with an innate magical ability. Looking from the top was so scenic — I could see the ruins of the Sankt Goar castle and both villages below. The energy of this place was so strong, although from the hilltop you wouldn't have noticed it. It wasn't until I was on the ferry later that evening that I could really feel the strong pull of the waters. The Lorelei transforms into a mermaid The Lorelei is actually a German myth. Most of the information comes from Romantic poet Clemens Brentano in his ballad Lore Lay . The tale is a continuation of one of his novels so naturally, the tale is embellished to fit the narrative, but it does reveal a lot about the nature of the nymph. Lorelei/Loreley has lent her name to a range of films over the decades, from the 1927 silent German version, to a 2005 Japanese war drama; to a fictional character in Marvel Comic books; to a dog in the 2003 novel "The Dogs of Babel," to the protagonist in the hit TV series "The Gilmore Girls."

US author Mark Twain spoke of the Lorelei in his satiric travelogue "A Tramp Abroad," published in 1880, as the "ancient legend of the Rhine. " Lorelei served as inspiration for a 1960 poem published by American Sylvia Plath. While the chance of conceiving twins is not necessarily genetic, Benicio and Lawrence have another case in their close family, as their paternal grandfather had a twin brother himself. [24]

The Lorelei is a legend that originates from ancient times. Prehistoric tribes along the Rhine would've noticed the pattern in the water and watched on with reverence for its destructive powers.

Object Details

Marisha Ray, Taliesin Jaffe and Matthew Mercer made a cameo in the episode, appearing as thugs in the cemetery. The thugs were named after the cast members' surnames. The Smithsonian American Art Museum's distinguished collection of works by Albert Pinkham Ryder, who has long been considered one of America's greatest romantic painters, is one of the strengths of the museum's extensive Gilded Age material. Together, these works illuminate one of the rare talents of American art. Separately, they provide enchanting glimpses into Ryder's world of literary figures and poetic metaphors. When Benicio finally finished off the undead Geneviève Lorelei with his glaive, [17] Lucius redirected his siblings' attention to their remaining enemy, who was trying to escape. Larry marked the Kryn Agent with his blood curse and Aurra cast Wind Wall to catch him. The force of the current in such a closed space caused the dark elf to be hit mercilessly and die. [18] Yet 24-year-old history and archaeology student Katrin Kober has a refreshing take on the lure of the Loreley:It is her sex appeal. It is possible that this is because, while his sister Aurra learned to master her animal side on her own, living many years in the forest to make up for not having undergone the Taming, Lucius focused on his work as a cleric, so perhaps he has less control in his lupine form than the rest of his siblings.Lucius is two years younger than Aurra, and Erica Luttrell stated that her character was around 23 in human years, but she had lived at least three more years as a wolf in the woods, making her at least 26 years old. See " Liam's One Shot: The Song of the Lorelei" (Sx36) at 0:50:22. Liam explains that much of the time Aurra spent in the woods, she wasn't living in her human form. Portia was the third child born from Lord and Lady Lorelei, being at least five years younger than Lucius, the brother immediatly preceding her. [6] Portia had no memories of her mother Rosalind (who died giving birth to Lawrence and Benicio, the twins) and instead was raised by her father Haldur and her great-aunt Katerine. [7] As both her elder siblings chose paths outside of the Lorelei family traditions, she was the first of Hal's children to fit the mold of a Lorelei noble. She excelled at everything, demanded to undergo the Taming two years early and while she loved her elder siblings she was glad to assume their seat of power. [8] " Liam's One Shot: The Song of the Lorelei" (Sx36) [ ] She was the Lorelei sibling with the highest initiative in all the battles they were in during the one-shot.

Her name seems to be a variant of the Latin word porta (door). In a certain way, it references her magical ability to transport herself and others. She was the eldest of the five Lorelei children, being two years older than Lucius, [8] and at least seven years older than Portia. [9]. Aurra remembered her mother, Rosalind, only a little, but it was great-aunt Katerine Lorelei who raised her alongside her father, Lord Haldur Lorelei (who had also been raised by Katerine), teaching her how to read and write. For the Third Annual Burning Man One-Shot Filler Episode, Liam O’Brien takes us into another part of Wildemount, where we see another facet of the continent’s residents. The effects of wars of the past have shaped the lives of many, and the tale of the Lorelei bloodline proves that the wars of old have ways of living beyond their end... History and Historical Context of the Loreleis The Lorelei character, although originally imagined by Brentano, passed into German popular culture in the form described in the Heine–Silcher song and is commonly but mistakenly believed to have originated in an old folk tale. The French writer Guillaume Apollinaire took up the theme again in his poem "La Loreley", from the collection Alcools which is later cited in Symphony No. 14 (3rd movement) of Dmitri Shostakovich. The character continues to be referenced in pop culture.Benicio: (while his siblings talk about the clues they found in the castle) Guys, you're making too much of it. There's just some bad guys out there, we're going to kill them, then we're going to have the party that I was promised.
