About this deal

When looking for the best Dewalt laser for you, you’ll need to know what colour will best suit your needs. Green Laser levels are up to 50x brighter than their red counterparts. This is because we are much more sensitive to the colour green than red. In fact, if you have 2 identically powered lasers one red and one green, the green laser will be around 4x more visible. Self-Levelling up to 4° surface angle with automatic out of level indication, marks a levelled line in seconds

With so many lasers in its arsenal, it can be hard to navigate Dewalt’s Laser Level range. In this article I hope to help you make an informed decision when it comes to buying the best Dewalt laser level for you. After a while Dewalt, decided to break into their 18V market by creating the DCLE34031D1 and DCE089D1G18 the latter using both 12v/18v batteries. These lasers all do the same job – give you the option of using 18v batteries if you so please. This DeWalt Cross Line Laser Level is the successor to the DeWalt DW087K and provides superior performance, durability and ease of use. The 'pulse' thing is part of the beam of only specified models, presumably only DeWalt. The DW088 & 89 being two. Likewise presumably a Bosch detector for Bosch Levels.Talking about visibility – laser detectors allow you to pinpoint the light from your laser when you cant see it with the naked eye. This can be one way to bridge the gap between red and green lasers in brighter situations. But it does let the red laser level work outside in daylight, which is worth a bit of hassle operating IMO as the laser make life so much easier in the end. Pity it was not supplied with a pou ch. There was a 9v battery, & the clamp. I find it easier to hold it in my hand & pencil in the line. The bleep is pretty loud, & can only be turned off once the detector has initially been turned on. Only a minor inconvenience. Read full review Rotary Laser Levels– A rotary laser is an important bit of kit that is essential in ensuring that a room is built to the right height. Whether you’re building up or digging down, a rotary laser will create a horizontal straight line that you can use in conjunction with a grade rod or laser detector to ensure you don’t go over or under your desired height. It is a bit fiddly to use as requires two hands (one with detector, one with pencil) so no offering up materials at same time and the clamp is not very dynamic in what you can attach it too.

Very useful, it immediately extends the usability of the level in daylight, & out of doors an unbelievable amount. Really useful, & good value at full price. Mine was a DeWalt-reconditioned unit, but looked & behaved like new. When choosing the “best Dewalt laser” it is important to have and idea what you need it for in mind – this will greatly help you decide what type of laser you’re after. Laser levels are split into many different types. Dewalt produces the following: Self-Levelling up to 4 degrees surface angle with automatic out of level indication, marks a levelled line in seconds Definitely increases the range of the red laser level and now allows the aforementioned to be used outside in daylight. Cheaper than buying a new green laser, which have their own limitations.

Red laser levels are generally cheaper to produce so you’ll save money buying a red laser. The diodes used to make green light lasers are more expensive thus the higher price point. If you know that you’ll be working with smaller rooms you might want to save the money as the red laser will probably get the job done. Self Levelling Crossline Lasers (Red/Green)– A self levelling crossline laser is one of the most efficient lasers on the market. Used for ensuring a “level” finish, self levelling crossline levels create a reference point/line to help keep your work area symmetrical. You can magnetically snap these onto pretty much any metal wall or fixing making them extremely useful to use on the fly. To clear up a few of some earlier uncertainties: It WILL NOT WORK with non-pulse (red in my case) laser lines. The 'pulse' thing is not visibly discernible, so do beware of trying to guess its presence. The detector will not see the red Bosch PLC 20 crossbeam for instance. Nor various other laser liners I could try it with.
