Jo Malone's Velvet Rose & Oud has been my go-to evening perfume for the last few years, so when I first came across Aldi's Hotel Collection No. 14 Velvety Rose, I didn't quite know how to feel. With decent perfumes being pretty pricey, I’m often on the hunt for a good dupe so was keen to try Superdrug’s Layering Lab range. I don’t think I’m quite ready to abandon Alien, but Superdrug’s Blossom certainly makes a decent stand in.While I’m usually comfortable in the knowledge that I’ve used Alien in the morning and it’ll last all day, I took to carrying Blossom around with me as it seemed to fade after an hour or two. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I like a stronger perfume for an evening scent. Aldi have done a good job in trying to replicate the smell though, and I think if you haven't worn the Jo Malone version before, you'd be impressed with the dupe.
