This is the combination many brewers add to their first batch of gruit, and it can work well (although generally not in equal parts). Back up your claims with some historical references, because we can back up hops being used as a preservatives.

It finally gained herbal dominance in Germany (the first place its use was legally required) nearly the same time that Martin Luther was excommunicated by the Catholic church in 1520. But indeed, Wojak, which advertises itself as being naturally brewed with no enzyme additives does not list hops on the label, only barley malt.I also have a really old copy of 'Culpepper's Herbal Guide', which again shows how difficult it is to read the old texts and come away with much meaningful data.
