About this deal

We live in a golden era of gin. It has become virtually impossible to keep up with the category because new distilleries seem to be popping up non-stop. Nowadays these delightful spirits are being crafted with such attention to detail that it’s becoming increasingly difficult to say which is the best gin out there. The omnipresence of the so called hipster snobbery has infiltrated the spirits industry and gin is no exception. In 2016, Napue rye gin was given a gold medal in the San Francisco World Spirits Competition's premium gin series. [35] A nice whiff of juniper and fruit on the nose. On the palate, fruit, pine from the juniper and birch followed by citrus notes and a little jam before a punchy peppery finish. Mouthwateringly good. Napue won the inaugural Best G&T gin at the IWSC in 2015 and it’s easy to see why. Great mouth feel, great flavour and finish plus a 46% ABV means it stands up well mixed, but is also delicious over ice. Kyrö Napue Gin (vuoteen 2020 asti Napue) on Kyrö Distillery Companyn ruisgini. Sen nimi vaihtui Kyrö Napue Giniksi tammikuussa 2020. Sen valmistukseen käytetään rukiin ohella 16 eri yrttiä, muun muassa karpaloa, tyrniä, koivunlehtiä ja mesiangervoa.

Far from squabbling over titles, parcelling out roles was easy. “It was surprisingly clear what everyone would do,” Miika says. But whatever comes next for Kyrö Distillery Company, these friends want to carry on as they began: together.

Retrieved 6 November 2017. The five founders of Kyrö Distillery Company – Miika Lipiainen, Mikko Koskinen, Kalle Valkonen, Miko Heinila, and Jouni Ritola – were drinking American rye whiskey together in the sauna, when someone raised this question: Why hadn't anyone made rye whiskey in Finland? After all, rye is Finland's No. 1 crop and it is a staple food for the Finns. Additionally, Kyrö produces small-batch experiments developed by external beverage experts under the Kyrö Study label, such as the Smoke & Rye spirit. [28] Kyrö Cranberry [ edit ] In 2016, The Spirits Business magazine awarded the company with a "Master medal" in the Digital & Social Media category in its Distillery Masters competition, and gave the company gold medals in Distillery Facilities, Consumer Experience, and Distillery Innovation. [36] Kyrö has also done collaborative products with other distilleries. Teeling Distillery aged their Irish whiskey in Kyrö's gin casks (which they use for Kyrö Dark gin) while Kyrö aged some of their gin in Teeling's whiskey casks. Together with the Japanese Kyoto Distillery, Kyrö produced a botanical exchange that celebrated the 100th year of Finnish‐Japanese diplomatic relations. Both distilleries used botanicals from the other to make a special batch of gin. [30]

So far, so fabulous – but these five friends were incredibly conscious of the perils that could await them if they barrelled head-long into business together without setting up some ground rules. In this gin, named after a tiny town where a terrible battle took place between Russia and Sweden in their long and protracted struggle for control of Finland (the typeface is even an exact replica of type that appears on the local war memorial) Napue Gin pays tribute to Finland by using locally-foraged botanicals in a Finnish rye base. a b "Kyrö Juuri Rye Spirit". Before they knew it, they had all quit their day jobs and were devoting themselves to the distillery full-time. It was a good thing, too: in 2015, Napue Gin, the distillery’s inaugural spirit, won ‘Best G&T’ at the International Wine and Spirits Competition in San Francisco. It has since gone on to win the coveted gold medal in the Contemporary Gin category. Voi sitä hypeä kun etelä-pohjanmaalaisen Kyrö Distilleryn Napue-gin julistettiin pari vuotta sitten kansainvälisellä tasolla parhaaksi giniksi gin toniciin. Vuonna 2015 Napue äänestettiin the International Wine & Spirit Competitionissa (IWSC) parhaaksi giniksi gin toniciin , ja vuonna 2016 palkinto tuli San Francisco World Spirit Competitionin premium-ginien sarjasta. Suomi mainittu – torille! Rukiista huolimatta Napue gin on valmistusmenetelmänsä ansiosta gluteeniton. 😉
