About this deal

At Westerburg High School in Sherwood, Ohio, Veronica Sawyer becomes part of a popular-but-feared clique that includes three wealthy and beautiful girls with the same first name: Heather Duke, Heather McNamara, and the ruthless queen bee, Heather Chandler. Tired of the clique abusing its power, Veronica longs for her old life with her kinder but less popular friends. She becomes fascinated with Jason "J.D." Dean, a new student and rebellious outsider (whose mother committed suicide, and whose wealthy father abused people), after he pulls out a gun and fires blanks to scare football-player bullies, Kurt and Ram.

Heathers TV Show Drops Its First Trailer". Den of Geek. August 29, 2017. Archived from the original on September 2, 2017 . Retrieved September 1, 2017. Veronica goes with Chandler to a frat party, where she refuses to have sex with one member, unlike Chandler, who was coerced to perform oral sex. When Veronica drunkenly vomits on Chandler, she vows to destroy Veronica's reputation as retaliation. Later, J.D. shows up at Veronica's house, and they have sex outside. They express to each other their mutual hatred of Chandler's tyranny. Hyler, S. E.; Moore, J. (December 1996). "Teaching Psychiatry? Let Hollywood Help!" (PDF). Heather Graham was offered the part of Heather Chandler, but her parents didn’t approve of the script. What is problematic is a society that reacts exactly as depicted in this show. Because this show is about an ignorant society where everyone bullies the other and feels to be the victim, uses victimhood to become a perpetrator and plays everyone for his own agenda. I'm not getting personal but I feel for this kinda musical the girls should have some "sex appeal" none of these did. None had that X factor that'd make them top girl, they were all just ok. Elsewhere, rumours destroy reputations overnight, a plot device that works even better re-watched from the internet age. Final scenes include JD detonating a suicide bomber vest. That’s still marginally milder than the alternate ending in which the entire school blows up and they all go to prom, as social equals, in heaven. Or the unfilmed scene that would have seen Martha stab Veronica and call her Heather, leaving Veronica to gasp her dying words: “My name’s not Heather, you bitch!” I'm also not convince the story in this is good or makes sense, Veronica technically kills someone and although they try and loosely make it look more his fault, technically it's still on her, it took very little persuasion to hide it and not report it etc. Also the heather who goes didn't really do much that I'd say it was fair. Then the actions continually of supposed heroes of the story are just odd. Veronica isn't particularly likeable and her attempts at humour aren't very good, her voice becomes grating and her mannerisms poor.

So basically dropping the show because its too edgy in light of the thousandth school shooting is exactly what this show points the finger at. Hoad, Phil (October 4, 2018).
