About this deal

One thing I did enjoy was Balibally's art. I like their scenery and how they gave their characters distinctive traits. They're able to build sexual tension effectively, and some of the comedic elements worked in their favor (Darwin's introduction). I also emphasize with En figuring out his place as a newly christened vampire, being as "young" as he is and getting to meet fellow peers and see how they deal with the transition. I didn't understand vampiric plastic surgery when Masaki explained it, but that's relatively minor given how much Balibally went over.

I may be biased considering I love both vampires and boys-love stories, and I'll admit the idea of a supernatural welfare organization is hardly a new concept in manga, but "Fangs" was a delight to read. I found the main couple to be particularly sweet and Iespecially enjoyed the wide range of different vampiresthe readers meet. Other characters we meet through Ichii's blood delivery job include a gay vampire couple consisting of an overprotective plastic surgeon and his flirtatious spouse,a loving vampire/human couple whose love has stood the test of time with both the human wife and the couple's child reaching old age still cherished preciously by the devoted vampire husband/father, and a grieving vampire widower with a giant pet tortoise who hasn't been able to move on from the loss of his husbandwhotragically fell asleep outside watching the stars one night and vanished with the rising sun. The characters all feel like unique entities rather than a generic cookie-cutter vampire cast. They own businesses, keep exotic pets, go skateboarding, get married, and do all the other things ordinary people do depending on their tastes, just with the occasional biological restrictions placed on them due to their vampirism. They feel very "human" in some ways and their diverse tastes and personalities make them fun to get to know. In addition to wanting to see more of the main couple, I want more of these guys, too.

This is a manga that would be great for people who love steamy Yaoi and paranormal mystery. As for me, I liked it but didn't love it. So I'm going to give this... The art is beautiful! And everyone is sexy. I also liked the chibi kinda art scattered throughout because it brought out more fun and personality. (Maybe that's typical in manga. I believe this is technically the first real manga I've read, though I read plenty of other graphic novels, webcomics, etc.) Also, I saw someone mention how nicely drawn all the hands are, and they were right, these are some perfect hands!

The story was weak for me. This volume felt like a prologue to a bigger story with little establishing action beyond En getting turned and him declaring his partnership with Ichii. Balibally teases their audience with Ichii's mysterious past and a secret he's keeping, but the pull isn't strong enough when the volume centers around meeting side characters, how En reacts to them, and two sex scenes. En's framing also made me uncomfortable at times. I understand age gaps have existed in vampiric love stories before, but the constant reinforcing of En as a "virgin" and a "baby" feels like infantilization and reminds me of fanservice media I've seen/been exposed to with women getting the same treatment. I'm getting past the point where characters are framed as desirable because of their youth. I think supernatural romances deserve more than that. En and Ichii's relationship also could have been developed more. The latter chooses to be the former's guardian right off the bat, but the romantic framing isn't strong enough to want to root for them. I also didn't like Ichii taking advantage of En at several moments throughout this volume. Balibally's established dynamic is currently the driving force of these two being together, rather than their growing feelings for each other. They can grow as a couple. However, their first time threw me off because it's related to what I discussed earlier and in a status update.vi) A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed. I loved this graphic novel with its beautiful art, sexy vampires, unique characters, touching and interesting relationships, exploration of vampirism, and sweet blossoming romance! So first things first: I know this is titled as a webcomic, but I think this might not be the right description for “Fangs”. This was no story with a central theme but rather little snippets of Elsie’s and Jimmy’s story that starts when they meet in a bar. Because of this the pacing is pretty fast and it seems like they jump right into their relationship and push the “fast forward” button instead of taking it slow. So I think “sequential art” might be the most accurate description here and I noticed that a lot of reviewers already put it in that genre which is great! =) I loved how much this explored different aspects of vampirism and the different ways it can affect people. Cheating. Loneliness. Depression. Lovers and children growing old. That sort of thing.

The story isn’t perfect. The world building is a bit messy and confusing. Not fully fleshed out yet, but I think figuring out the world building could come with future volumes as the story develops. What really sold this series for me is the characters and their relationships. I want to know more about everyone and see all these romances and friendships grow. I absolutely love the main characters. They’re so cuteeeeee. And the ROMANCE. I want to SCREAM. I’m obsessed.

En was adorable! So full of life and emotion, despite struggling a bit with not being human anymore. I can see why all the older vampires would like him. You can't help but be charmed by him, and he's not even trying. But i'm... not that even a good person. I'm not respectable enough... to deserve people doting on me the way they do." i) A physical or electronic signature of a person authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed; iii) Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing or to be the subject of infringing activity and that is to be removed or access to which is to be disabled and information reasonably sufficient to permit the service provider to locate the material; Oct 28 NBA Star Rui Hachimura Gets Animated and Possibly Saves the World in New Crayon Shin-chan Episode
