About this deal

Saathof, Evan (30 June 2015). "The Split Tonal Personality Of ME, MYSELF, & IRENE A look at the Farrelly Brothers' funniest drama". Birth. Movies. Death . Retrieved 22 May 2016. Sometimes Charlie is Charlie; sometimes he is Hank, a mean jerk who sounds like a bad Clint Eastwood impression and doesn't take any guff from anyone. One of Charlie's sons complains about Pluto being considered a planet. Pluto was demoted in 2006, six years after the movie was released. Michael Blanding & Alexandra Hall (11 February 2014). Moon Handbooks Vermont. Moon Publications. ISBN 9781612381008. In a post-credits scene, everyone looks for Charlie's thumb in the river. Whitey finds it, but a fish eats it.

The ex-wife of a Jim Carrey character would eventually go on to be the protagonist's wife in Son of the Mask. When Charlie and Irene first go on the lam, Irene comes into Charlie's hotel room and sees some telltale signs that he was pleasuring himself to her picture. A deleted scene reveals that he was using a watermelon. Jerks Are Worse Than Villains: The movie features an incredibly crass and mean-spirited split personality, a corrupt asshole with mafia connections, and two crooked police officers. However, a few more people manage to gain the contempt of the audience: Irene prepares to leave Rhode Island when the police pull her over, but this is only a diversion so Charlie can propose, which she happily accepts. Me, Myself & Irene was released on VHS on January 9, 2001, and on DVD on January 23, 2001. [4] It was later released on Blu-ray on February 5, 2008. [5] Reception [ edit ] Box office [ edit ]

Reviews

Values Dissonance: Several characters casually refer to Charlie as "schizo", even Irene. Aside from the fact that DID is not schizophrenia, referring to someone suffering from a mental illness as "schizo" or something similarly degrading is very offensive nowadays. When Hank first surfaces, one of the first things he notices is that he's carrying a gun. If Hank's response to disrespect is to nearly drown a little girl and smash a car into a barbershop, it's a good thing nobody ever took it further than that.

Charlie's cheating ex-wife and the limo driver she has an affair with. What's especially reprehensible is when they abandon their own biological children and don't even offer any child support. Emerging whenever Charlie is under extreme stress, Hank is an over-the-top, rude, and violent persona reminiscent of characters played by Clint Eastwood. [3] A psychiatrist prescribes medication to keep Hank suppressed. Despite his friends warning him of Layla's infidelity, Charlie denies it, even after she gives birth to biracial triplets, Jamal, Lee Harvey, and Shonté Jr., who also appear to be geniuses. A few years later, Layla leaves with Shonté, abandoning the children with Charlie, who raises them as his own. While they love and respect Charlie, the rest of the town continually abuses him. After years of such treatment, he develops a split personality named "Hank Evans" to deal with confrontations Charlie avoids. Carrey included the movie in his top five favourite movies of his own, coming in second behind The Cable Guy. Tribbey, Ralph (November 2, 2000). "Fox Tests DVD Release Lag on Jim Carrey's 'Me, Myself and Irene' ". hive4media.com. Archived from the original on January 10, 2001 . Retrieved September 11, 2019.
