About this deal

I felt like the Auxetic tech has slightly altered the feel of most of the racquets in the HEAD line-up. But the change is subtle and you need to really focus on feeling it.

Our team enjoyed lots of feel and control with the MicroGel Radical Midplus at net. Finding some pinpoint accuracy on his touch volleys was Spencer. "I enjoyed the feel of this racquet at net. I liked it most with the more delicate touch volleys. I didn't have as much confidence when trying to put volleys away, and felt any off-center shots were affected by a little instability." Also feeling well-connected to his volleys with the MicroGel Radical Midplus was Granville. "This one was perhaps the least forgiving racquet at net between the three iterations, but I liked the response best. I found some very precise action from the stringbed and good feel. I still need more time with this to make the most of what it has to offer." Comments: I am an older player, 70 plus and playing for more than 50 years. I have been playing with a Prestige S for about five years. I did a demo with the new Radical MP and fell in love with it. Easy power, a bigger sweetspot, and only a slight drop in feel and control. I am still experimenting with string and tension, but my game has improved noticeably. I give the Radical a thumbs up! The Head MicroGEL Radical comes in 3 different designs, but the Midplus happens to appeal to us (and many others) much more than the rest. The MicroGEL Radical Oversize comes with a 107 sq.in head while the MicroGEL Radical Pro comes with a 100 sq.in frame, a 16×19 open string pattern, and a heavier handle (12 oz strung weight / 4 points head light). And although the MicroGEL Radical Pro is very similar to the Midplus, the Midplus just has a better feel to it that has everything a player could want. Comfort, stability, maneuverability, power, and of course control all-in-one racquet.Head Prestige– The Prestige is a slightly more control-oriented racquet than the Radical. Advanced players will find better touch and feel with less power. The players looking for easy-to-maneuver yet powerful racquets should give Head Graphene 360 Speed S a serious look. In fact, power is something beginner and intermediate players crave, and the good news is, with 318 swing weight, Head Ti S6 helps generate extra power for powerful shots.

Best for intermediate players who are looking to improve their skills and generate power, the Head MicroGEL Radical is the tool you need to bring your game to the next level. The open string pattern of the Radical MP allows for great spin potential for an advanced racquet as well. This racquet won’t have as much power as some other advanced tennis racquets, but it will offer a bit better control and feel. The Radical Pro is Great on Groundstrokes & Serves As I said, this works best for intermediate and advanced players because of its versatility. Players will find it easy to deliver fast and full strokes at the very baseline. Plus, if you do it correctly and with solid technique, the racquet will follow in the best way possible. Comments: I was looking for a replacement for my Radical Pro Graphene Touch racquet. I've been a Radical Pro user since the Microgel days, but decided to demo both the 2021 Radical Pro and the 2021 Radical MP. The Pro felt heavy but the MP felt just right. Maybe because I'm getting older (71), but the MP felt more maneuverable than the Pro but still has the same solid feel. The MP has great touch at the net and produces solid ground strokes. And my serve has a little more power and spin than it did with the Pro. I am very happy I switched to the MP.The Ezone 105 is also a good option for doubles as it provides good power, control, and spin at the net.

Jason liked to use spin and placement on his serves. He said, "The Radical MP 2023 was solid when it came to serves. I got plenty of spin on my first and second serves to make them effective, and I thought placement was pretty good too. It wasn't giving me a lot more free power than other racquets of similar specs, but it didn't feel underpowered." The 16×19 string pattern makes it very spin-friendly as well. The weight and graphene 360+ technology help with defending against faster-paced shots with sufficient comfort.

In summary, Head MicroGel Radical is suitable for intermediate to advanced-level players looking for an arm-friendly and easy-to-control racquet for game improvement. Jason - "This is the best playing Radical MP in a few generations. Its playability is comparable to the Babolat Pure Strike 16x19." Auxetic constructions show a unique deformation compared to non-Auxetic constructions. Due to their internal properties, Auxetic constructions widen when a “pull” force is applied and contract when squeezed. The bigger the applied force, the bigger the Auxetic reaction. More Stability: Not only are oversize tennis racquets slightly heavier than traditional ones, but they also provide more stability because of their greater weight distribution. This is especially important if you’re a beginner. In other words, we recommend this racquet to advanced players only who want more control of a racquet.

The Radical MP tennis racquet is a lighter version for less advanced players seeking a bit more power. Head Radical MP Racquet Specifications The new Auxetic Radicals are not far away from the previous generation. I think HEAD’s step into the Auxetic era is very subtle. Maybe too subtle in most cases to be called much of an update. But you can argue that you shouldn’t mess with a good thing. And the Radicals are good racquets. They are dependable and balanced frames that do most things well, but nothing exceptionally. A. Top professional tennis players like Alexander Zverev and Novak Djokovic use Head racquets. Here are the head racquets used by tennis professionals. Howard - "This Radical MP 2023 was a pleasant surprise to me. The thing I enjoyed the most compared to my racquet of choice is that the Radical MP 2023 allowed me to flatten my shots a bit more. By flattening my shots, I was able to be more aggressive on the court, which I loved."Kristen - "I haven't spent much time with previous Radicals, but I have recently tested the updated Head Extreme MP. I found this Radical MP to be more controlled and comfortable than the Extreme MP while offering similar access to easy topspin and depth. Another comparable racquet that comes to mind would be the Babolat Pure Strike 16x19." Continue reading to find out all there is about the Head MicroGel Radical tennis racquet, its features, pros, and cons, as well as all its specifications. It’s notably easy on the arm because of lightweight Nano Titanium technology. Additionally, this material enhances durability and aids in stability. The Radical MP is a great tennis racquet for intermediate or advanced players looking for something a bit easier to handle. This racquet is very similar to the predecessor called the Graphene 360+. What’s new is the Auxetic technology. What is Auxetic and how does it work? This is how HEAD describes it.
