About this deal

We like the Honor Magic5 Lite 5G much better than its predecessor, particularly because the display and the main camera are much improved this time around. The OLED panel is not only about 53% brighter but also offers a more life-like color reproduction. Furthermore, the 1,920 Hz PWM dimming is also a premium feature that was previously seen in the Magic5 Pro. There’s a fair bit of bloatware on the Magic 5 Lite, which is disappointing. Everything from Netflix, Booking.com, and some games come pre-installed, with some Honor-branded apps alongside existing Google offerings. It’s easy enough to disable, but I’d rather they weren’t there to begin with. Other versions with different storages are available. Through the HONOR RAM Turbo technology, it may occupancy and application load. The actual experience may vary due to different network environments, The camera has received a new 64 MP sensor, which enables better pictures than the 48 MP optics from the Magic4 Lite. However, it is still not a high-flyer. The ultra-wide-angle lens was long overdue, but its pictures are only suitable for social media at best.

While primarily focusing on Asian markets, Honor is a popular Android brand among international users as well.

The Honor Magic5 Lite 5G is a slim smartphone with strong runtimes and a bright display, but it has shortcomings in terms of the camera.

And the 2MP macro lens is really quite poor. The actual Macro mode isn’t easy to find in the Camera app. And when you do try to take some super close-up shots, you’ll be left with largely unusable images. There’s noticeable distortion, noise, and colours don’t look anywhere near as vibrant. It’s a common trend for budget smartphones to include a low-res macro lens as a third camera, but it doesn’t make it any less disappointing.slightly due to individual differences in products, user habits, and environmental factors. Video recording is capped at 1080p at 30fps, which isn’t the best, but is understandable at this price. Stabilisation is only electronic, so you may still see the odd camera shake, but otherwise the footage is decent enough. Honor Magic 5 Lite review: Verdict The software runs on Android 12, with Honor’s own Magic UI 6.1 pasted over the top. While not as clean an installation as a Google or Motorola phone, this is far from the worst custom Android OS on the market. The menus can be a bit over the top, and there’s more pre-installed bloatware than I’d like, but overall it’s fast and easy enough to navigate that it shouldn’t matter too much. Honor Magic 5 Lite review: Price and competition product (including but not limited to the appearance, color, and size), as well as the actual display While Snapdragon 695 can handle everyday usage well, it’s designed for light tasks like messaging and browsing the web, and this becomes noticeable with more demanding tasks like 3D gaming. It matches the chipset used in the similarly-priced Poco X5 and OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite, and is slightly less powerful than the MediaTek Dimensity 930 found in the Moto G73 5G.Even better was the OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G, with multicore scores roughly 14% ahead of the Honor Magic 5 Lite. While these cheaper models pulling ahead may not paint the 5 Lite in the best light, it’s still a very nippy handset to use. General scrolling is pleasingly fluid, helped along by the 120Hz refresh rate, while running and jumping between multiple apps never resulted in any significant slowdown.

Please avoid pressing the internal screen with hard or sharp things, such as pens and nails. Please do At least things feel familiar compared to other Honor smartphones, if you’re coming from a previous device. MagicUI 6.1 is intuitive – easy to get around, features similar navigation, and offers a well-designed UI.

About Fonehouse

The Magic 5 Lite doesn’t include flagship-level charging speeds, but it does still include fast charging at 40W via the USB-C port. It’s fairly standard these days, but will comfortably juice up the device in not much time at all. Inside the Honor Magic 5 Lite is a Snapdragon 695 processor, paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. Power comes courtesy of a massive 5,100mAh battery, which supports 40W fast charging. The Magic 5 Lite can crank up to around 800 nits of brightness inside, which is pretty ample for everyday viewing. However, you may find that this budget device begins to struggle once you head outside or into other bright environments. Up top, there’s a hole punch selfie snapper at the very top of the display. While magic would be the logical source of power, the 5 Lite actually runs on an octa-core 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 chipset. This is a solid, if unremarkable, processor that we’ve seen recently in devices such as the Motorola Edge 30 Neo and Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G. All three scored similarly in the single-core CPU tests, though the Xiaomi pushed the hardware a little further for a lead of around 8% in the Geekbench 5 multicore test.
