About this deal

Ultimately, I don't think this book knows what it wants to be? It wasn't the hot summer romance that I wanted it to be. I wanted more.

The constant pop culture references did my head in, and will certainly date this book. I didn't understand many of them, and it just felt like excessive name dropping. Writing sex scenes is a delicate thing. It can go so wrong, so fast! I have three sex-scene rules. First of all, it has to move the plot forward in some way. Unless your book is erotica, it shouldn’t just be sex for sex’s sake. The scene should reveal something new about the characters or escalate the narrative tension. Secondly, avoid using old-school bodice-ripper phrases like “throbbing manhood” or “dewy mound.” Thirdly, be realistic. Your characters should fumble a little, laugh, get it wrong. The messy stuff is super sexy. The best sex scene I’ve ever read was in an old Sandra Brown novel called Slow Heat in Heaven, which also might be the best title ever. The scene involved a Cajun bad boy, a Waspy good girl, and an explosive enemies-to-lovers vibe. I encourage everyone to go read this book immediately. In other words: This couple couldn't be together by the end of the penultimate chapter, but in the following one, nothing really changed! Plus, I had my own romance with a very young guy, too. I couldn’t make it work in real life, so I wanted it to happen somewhere! I felt like there were a lot of fun places I could go with that generation gap. Jenna’s 40, but she’s in love with a guy who became legal, like, yesterday. What she wants and what he wants are drastically different. He’s not perfect but he is in my eyes. He was incredibly sweet and understanding. His past trauma and how it made him feel unwanted and undeserving of people love made me so sad 💔 but I LOVED his character development it was one of the best. I loved how he used his past trauma and experience to try and help other young students like him. How he wanted to be there for them because he didn’t want them to experience being alone 🤧 he’s perfect 💘🫂 A Best Book of the Year: NPR • Kirkus • Marie Claire • PopSugar • New York Public Library • Bustle • Reader’s Digest • Literary Hub The characters were both so dysfunctional, still recovering from their pasts. They needed therapy, not to jump into bed with each other! Especially Shane! When Eva Mercy, a single mother and bestselling erotica writer, and the enigmatic, award-winning novelist Shane Hall meet at a literary event in New York, sparks fly. But what no one knows is that fifteen years earlier, teenage Eva and Shane spent one week together, madly in love. While they may pretend to be strangers, they can't deny their chemistry. Seven Days in Sunny June” details a fleeting moment of romance between two long time friends, and Jay Kay’s enduring but unreciprocated feelings.

They still have that spark. But there’s plenty of unanswered questions they have to work toward answering if they have any hope of lasting for the long haul. Romance and Steam In the past , they spent all day together, wildly confiding, drinking, and sharing each other's pain. The Seven Days in June book describes that they had a crazy and passionate relationship and romance in a week before. However, after that, Shane Hall left and Eva later had and raised a child alone. Things changed when they began to get in touch during the week after their reunion. My favorite character 🫶🏻 the funniest, most adorable, lovable character in the book. She’s so precious 🥹 i love the way she loves Eva and her speech to shane about taking care of her mother had me in tears please i love her so much 🤧💘 her relationship with eva was one of the coolest mother and daughter relationship i’ve ever read.
