In 1992, the band released “Revenge of the Goldfish” which charted in those particular countries. It made it to number 17 in the UK and managed an impressive four singles in the UK Chart. Prior to 1983 the early incarnation of Inspiral Carpets was called The Furs formed in 1980 by Graham Lambert and played mainly Psychedelic Furs covers. Hingley formed a new band, the Lovers, along with Jerry Kelly of the Lotus Eaters (which later featured Steve and Paul Hanley of the Fall), while Boon formed the Clint Boon Experience, releasing a string of singles on the Artful label.
