About this deal

If using Amiibo in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is the same as its predecessor, Breath of the Wild, then you can follow the steps below to scan your figurine and collect your rewards. Let’s start with some Spirit recommendations! If you’d like to have your FP participate in Spirits tournaments ( or if you just want to raise a powerful Raid Boss ), then we’ve got a bunch of setups here that work well with Toon Link. If you want to learn more about how Spirits work in this game, be sure to read our full Spirits guide — or just bookmark it for later! Assorted Mushrooms (Chillshroom, Hearty Truffle, Hylian Shroom, Rushroom, Zapshroom, Stamella Shroom, Skyshroom, Ironshroom, Sunshroom, Brightcap, Razorshroom)

I'm also disappointed that the once-per-day restriction applies to Epona, since you're not gaining anything new by having the horse summoned repeatedly, assuming it only allows one in the game at a time. I was kind of hoping I could use the amiibo to summon my horse anywhere in the world, rather than the extremely limited whistling they put in the game that is all but useless and makes horses completely impractical to bother with. Then, simply scan your figurine or card by gently pressing it onto the the right controller of your Switch when it's in handheld mode. Train your FP fighter and level it up in offline modes to create a worthy friend or foe. Data is transferable between Wii U and 3DS, but not between Ultimate without losing FP levels and ability to be used on Wii U and 3DS. Of course, the real draw are those coveted armor sets, letting fans outfit their Hylian hero in their favorite green caps, tunics and trousers from past adventures. Tears of the Kingdom also introduces precious paraglider fabrics, encouraging you to tailor the all-important navigational tool with style to spare.

Compatible games

Players can use a variety of both Legend of Zelda themed Amiibo and non-Zelda Amiibo to scan in to perform a variety of features depending on the particular Amiibo. By doing so, it will cause a variety of rewards to appear: The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has amiibo support, including previous Zelda amiibo figures and a new version of Link specific to the game. By scanning amiibo, you can get special armor pieces, weapons, and paraglider fabric. Epona, Twilight Armor, Mirror of Twilight Fabric, knight's broadsword, soldier's shield (once Epona is registered) Assorted Herbs (Silent Princess, Electric Safflina, Swift Carrot, Mighty Thistle, Blue Nightshade, Hyrule Herb, Fortified Pumpkin, Amoranth, Swift Violet) Once you have SAVED GAME you can use your Amiibo and open the Chest. If you don’t like the items you got RELOAD YOUR SAVE and try again for something better.

FYI, I tried using the Link amiibo in a town and got a chest instead of a horse. It seems you can't summon the horse in certain places? Kind of annoyed because now I have to wait until tomorrow to try again. In Breath of the Wild, if the Super Smash Brothers Link Amiibo was scanned, the player would receive Epona, Link's Legendary Horse, as a riding companion, and this remains true in Tears of the Kingdom. However, Epona cannot be customized, renamed, tow cargo, or have her stats upgraded. Assorted Fish (Armored Carp, Mighty Cap, Chillfin Trout, Hyrule Bass, Mighty Porgy, Staminoka Bass) While the Wolf Link Amiibo that came with the special edition of Twilight Princess HD on the Wii U made Wolf Link appear in Breath of the Wild, he does not appear in Tears of the Kingdom Assorted Meat (Raw Meat, Raw Prime Meat, Raw Gourmet Meat, Raw Whole Bird, Seared Gourmet Meat, Roasted Whole Bird)Amiibo rewards range from paraglider fabric to armor, weapons or materials (like ancient blades), depending on the figure in question. If you’re a loyal fan of The Legend of Zelda franchise, there’s a good chance you’ve got a couple dozen Amiibo that have been collecting dust since you rolled credits on Breath of the Wild. Thankfully, with the recent release of Tears of the Kingdom, all those Link and Zelda figures — as well as those of their friends and foes — can once again be leveraged to do much more than express your fandom. Raid Boss bonuses: For the most part, the bonuses listed above work great on a Raid Boss too! You can also add Move Speed ↑ to the mix in case you want some additional speed. Otherwise, stat-boosting Spirits work just fine. Once you have enabled Amiibo, go along your abilities menu until you come across the 'Amiibo' selection.

Edgeguarding human opponents is always a risk, but forward air is incredibly strong when used off-stage. Neutral air strikes on both sides, but is best used above the stage as a landing option — not off-stage. As with Breath of the Wild, you can scan amiibo from your ability wheel to gain bonus items — some of which are themed to previous Legend of Zelda games. (If amiibo scanning is disabled for you, you can enable scanning functionality within the Options menu.) This amiibo will be named by Uncle amiibo, and will find lost Power Moons and mark them in the map. There are still some unique items only available by tapping the Zelda series amiibo, though — namely, unique paraglider fabric. You can change your paraglider fabric by heading to the Kochi Dye Shop in Hateno, and there are some rather lovely ones too. With the exception of the two Super Smash Bros. games, Super Mario Maker, and One Piece: Super Grand Battle! X, games that are compatible with Toon Link's amiibo can use Link's amiibo for the exact same function. Below you'll find all of the Paraglider Fabric we've recieved from Amiibos so far. It's important to note that, to change your Paraglider design, you have to visit the Dye Shop in Hateno Village. Link (Tears of the Kingdom) Credit: Nintendo. | Image credit: Nintendo.
