About this deal

If we read these lines closely, we can understand that Hanson is telling us to appreciate ourselves just like we would appreciate anyone else dear to us. Often, we observe the small things in the people we love. We observe their mannerisms and behavior and fall in love with them repeatedly for the small things they do or say. While reading these lines of the poem, it almost feels like Hanson is urging the readers to love themselves the way we love others. Did you receive any valuable advice from art instructors along the way that still serves you today?

Ruling Planet: Erin Hanson has a ruling planet of Moon and has a ruling planet of Moon and by astrological associations Sunday is ruled by moon. The Moon represents one's nurturing and emotional instinct. People who are born with Moon as the ruling planet are sensitive, nurturing, and usually have fluctuating moods.Chinese Zodiac: Erin Hanson was born in the Year of the Rabbit. People born under this sign are nice and good-mannered. They're always forgiving of other people's mistakes, which at times can translate to naivete and gullibility. Naturally, you won't like all of her poems as much. I've never read a book of a poet and like each and every poem written in it. Also, I believe that, depending on the person you are, what you've been through, your emotional makeup will influence the poems you'll like. Open Impressionism is unlike any other painting style and truly stands by itself in the contemporary art world. While inspired by the impressionists of the past, Hanson has a more expressionistic manner of painting, and her works attempt to recapture the emotional content of the outdoors, instead of merely the light and forms of the landscape. While Open Impressionism was developed over the span of 20 years and certainly changed as the artist experimented and refined her techniques, there are some basic hallmarks of Open Impressionism that we can take note of. This was the first poetry book that I have read since Shell Silverstein, and I absolutely loved it! I first found Erin Hanson online, and was happy to find that she had full books of her poetry. She writes in a very personal way that is easy to connect with. By using imagery and alliteration, Hanson crafts incredible stories and vignettes.

Never Trust a Mirror’ by Erin Hanson was written to remind readers that one’s reflection, or what they look like, is not an indication of their self-worth. My painting technique is done with expressive color and loose brush strokes, in a wet-on-wet technique known as alla prima. Alla prima comes from Italian, literally meaning 'at first attempt' and is loosely applied to any painting that is done in a direct, expressive style. Never Trust a Mirror’by Erin Hanson is a twenty-line poem that is contained within a single stanza of text. The lines use numerous examples of rhyme but do not follow an exact pattern. For example, within the first ten lines, the word “mirror” is used as an exact rhyme, and the words “deep” and “sleep” are used as perfect rhymes. I must add, though there wasn't a book where I appreciated all of the poems, I do find more poems I love in Hanson's books than in any other. With this project Stephanie hopes to remind her girls and the rest of us that life is magical and that we should always think big – what if you fly? I think most of us have witnessed the social media community come together around crises and social issues, and I hope Stephanie’s project will be another beautiful instance of community engagement and support. None of us are perfect. None of us look perfect either. The truth is that perfection is just an illusion. We are perfect just the way we are. Perfectionism is all your imperfections. Perfectionism is you.

Imagery: occurs when the poet uses particularly interesting descriptions. These should evoke an image in the reader’s mind and inspire them to use their senses. For example, “You can’t see how your eyelids flutter, / When you’re drifting off to sleep.” ART IN THE PARK. Boulder City, NV. 1st Place Painting. Juried by Boulder City Hospital Foundation. 2012 Words that you tell yourself are like a self-fulfilling prophecy. Thoughts become things. In this article, we will talk about the importance of positive self-talk. lifeism.co Alliteration: occurs when the poet repeats the same consonant sound at the beginning of multiple words. For example, “light” and “loving” in lines eleven and twelve. Erin Hanson is the creator of the contemporary painting style "Open Impressionism," which is being taught in art schools and colleges worldwide. Open Impressionism is a blend of classic impressionism and modern expressionism, with a dash of plein air style.

When I am out in the field, I use a variety of cameras to capture different angles that might come in handy later when I am painting: I use two Canon EOS 5D cameras, one with a standard lens and one with a telephoto zoom lens. I use my iPhone’s camera when I want to shoot wide-angle shots or panoramas. I sometimes use a drone to get higher-elevation shots or reach difficult angles. Since you create one painting every week, who or what do you turn to when looking for sources of inspiration? When you look through your own portfolio, is there one specific painting that stands out amongst the rest? PASOSCAPES: OILS BY ERIN HANSON. Studios on the Park, Paso Robles, CA. Curated by Sasha Irving. 2013 In the first lines of the poem, the speaker begins by noting that it’s important to “Never trust a mirror.” Mirrors lie to use when we look into them by suggesting that what’s on the surface is the only thing that matters. One’s glance at their reflection may indicate to them that they aren’t beautiful or aren’t worthy of being appreciated for who they are on the inside.

The poem starts with the speaker telling whoever is reading the poem to remember that mirrors are untrustworthy. They show someone looking into them what’s on the surface. But, they have no access to what’s inside one’s mind or heart. Nor can they see “you” when you’re living in the happiest moments of life or sleeping peacefully. One should be wary of basing their self-worth off of what they see in the mirror. Rating this was truly difficult, because I know that if I read this three years ago, it would have been my lifeline... these days, my perspective has changed for the better, and the darkness was more like reminiscing than feeling. Overall, I still enjoyed the experience greatly, especially the beginning and end, but I think my current psyche limited my connection to her words, despite them being beautiful and honest (in her eyes).Everyone who’s ever told me that it’s helped them in some way. I know how much words can help people, so if mine have the opportunity to then I’m happy.
