Carlton, takes readers on a rollercoaster of emotions that combines the complexity of a dark romance with the seductive chill of a stalker. The worst thing about this book, for me, is how overly corny it is in its attempt to justify itself. HD’s writing will easily whisk you off to dark storms, haunted mansions, scary woods and places where shadows linger for a little too long. He's just so hypocritical talking about how any guy that forces himself onto women/children deserves to go to hell and be tortured (Which is his hobby.

H.D Carlton is probably one of the best authors for dark romance and now I don't think I'll ever top the feeling this book left.There’s a parallel story where our dark knight is also a hero chasing pedophiles, witch, u know, is a good thing! And by that I mean, these women that act like children, that don't have a single logical, mature cell in their body. Also he’s just a massive self contradiction, fighting against human trafficking and sex crimes while actively stalking a woman and assaulting her. now before i get into it i gotta say that even though this book is marketed at 18+, i personally consider it 21+ it can be very triggering for some so tread lightly.

This is so fucking harmful to rape victims and belittles what they went through as it implies that if you even felt a little bit of pleasure whilst being raped that it wasn't actually rape.

Not only is this book horribly, unnecessarily long, but it's also boring because, who wants to watch a man rape a woman in her house 3 different ways for 800 pages straight? So again, this book has no romantic aspect, thin plot and bad characters, so people read it for the smut. My heart drops as I tear my eyes away to look around and see his eyes pinned on me from several directions, it’s the most intense feeling I’ve ever experienced. Overall I think it could have played up that side of things more and it would have added to the storyline hugely.
