About this deal

The 6900’s easily recognized by its round shape flattened at the bottom, the “three eyes” (a.k.a., “triple graph”) and the light activation button located front and center on the bottom of the face. The article contains other information, including anecdotes about current and former military members, as well some interesting reader comments.

The Rangeman buttons are large, with a cross-cut texture. They’re easy to find and press, even with gloves. That’s because the Rangeman 9400 is a BIG watch (55.2 x 53.5 x 18.2-mm). It’s also a BOLD watch. The lower rectangular LCD area displays the usual time, day / date, and other chronograph functions. One unique function: the ability to toggle the day / date display with the World Time (city / time zone of your choice). The Triple Sensor works well as a general reference. The barometer is the most useful of the functions; it includes a barometric pressure trend graph. The trend graph can be toggled on to replace the weekday at the top of the LCD (displaying constantly in the Time Mode). Okay if they flushed down the light button lip to match the rest of the rim around the dial I could accept the triple graph size, so there is potential if Casio would move on from the nostalgia. The three circular indicators on top are (from left to right) - amount of solar energy watch has (high, med, low), middle circle has the different timers, stopwatches, alarm settings, and the right circle is seconds by 2's (2 seconds, 4, seconds, 6 seconds, and so on to 10). All of these settings inside the circle itself will light up if they are "on," which is awesome as you can easily see if any alarms are on and how much solar energy your watch has. So right now as I look at my watch, the "high" setting is lit up so I know that my watch has a "high" charge of solar energy. I have one (of 5 possible) alarms on, so one of my alarm settings is lit up as well. At work, I put the 'mute' setting on, so that will light up as well if it is on. If any are off, they do not light up.

The Casio GW-6900-1 boasts an accuracy of ±15 seconds per month, ensuring that it keeps accurate time. Its tough construction and reliable mechanism make it a durable and long-lasting timepiece. Although the GW6900 display is more capable in some ways, some people may prefer the look and the straightforward layout of the GWM5610 display. The main digits on the GWM5610 are larger than the GW6900, making it easier to read. The third circular graph is mostly eye candy, divided into ten segments which turn on / off sequentially as an ersatz second-hand during the default time mode, making a 360-degree “sweep” every ten seconds. In stopwatch mode, the pie graph segments represent 1/10th of a second and cycle on and off accordingly, making a 360-degree sweep every second. The GW6900-1 has 31 time zones for world time, while the GWM5610-1 has 29, and both have 48 cities. The additional time zones on the GW6900 are UTC+5.75 for Kathmandu (KTM) in Nepal and UTC-2 for Fernando de Noronha (FEN) in Brazil, and the cities of Miami and Toronto are omitted (as they are the same time zone as New York). The Casio GW-6900-1 is a watch with a Tough Solar mechanism, meaning it is powered by solar energy. The watch features an LCD dial, providing a clear and easy-to-read display. It is designed to be waterproof and can withstand a water-resistant pressure of up to 20 ATM, equivalent to a water-resistant depth of 200 meters. The G9000-1V Mudman has an extra-protective case featuring mud and dust resistance. It’s a good choice if your deployment takes you to an extreme environment like the desert or jungle. The G9000 also has specialized features such as two stopwatches and five multi-function alarms that are more versatile than the usual daily alarm. The multi-function alarm can be set as a daily alarm, a date alarm for a time on a specific date, a 1-month alarm that sounds everyday on the month set, and a monthly alarm that sounds on a specific day every month. Although this particular model is more colorful with its red buttons than other G9000 models that are currently available, we suggest the G9000-1V for its easy-to-read non-inverted LCD display.
